St_Marys64
Welcome here dckid.Craiga - did you teach with the doctor for the orange and black? If so - we know each other well. My license plate has not changed in 10 years. As for the Watertown Cadets - they went undefeated in the summer of 1972 in local greater Boston shows. They were taught by all BAC folks. A classmate of mine - David Loh - played soprano and lived Brighton. FYI - not a single Watertown Cadet marched with 27th. I joined in fall of 1972. A few started with 26+1, but all went to the split tail lion before the season started. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not sure if Watertown actually made to the field in 1972 check with your friend. Also “Ozie” played snare in 27 or 26+1 he was from Watertown and Guy the 6’9” cymbal player was from Watertown. And yes they were very good, “More and More” OTL Perhaps they joined after the legend aged out? I feel confident, as once again the legend will, get to the bottom of this. Just as the legend help clear up, all the confusion with White Stadium? GO PATS........................................................ craiga
Yes, LancerLegend, I know you well.....still have that Ford Taurus in "Lancer Green", or have you gone upscale? After 11 years with the black and orange, I'm now in my 6th with the red, white, and black.....and in my 25th still devoted to the one and only "Red & Black". Hope to see you in Foxboro cheering for the hometeam.... :)
Vince Lamb
Hi, Allow me to make a couple of clarifications: In 1979, Spectra was in the second year of their 2 year existance (I was a member) before they merged with Heightsmen. (marched in Pembroke Imperials until 77, then Spectra, 78-79 then North Star 80, 81). The Brigs looking like Boston I think was no accident. Many of their instructors were Crusaders or Crusader alum. There aren't many corps left in Mass but here are the ones in Eastern Ma: Boston Crusaders, Crusaders Seniors, East Coast Jazz, Citations, Light Brigade, Mass Brass, and I'm proud to tell you that the Imperials have been resurrected. I am the Director! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey, John Stark! How's it going?

GO PATS........................................................ <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wow - are we talking about the same 27 corps that I marched with? I knew every snare drummer from 1970 thru 1983. I marched 10/72 and aged out in 8/77. Taught 12/79 to 8/83. Know every snare personally in between. The 6'-9" cymbal player from Watertown? We never had any cymbal players from Watertown. Steve from Revere, Sully from Arlington, Lindsey from Lynn, and Ed from Lynn. We never had a snare nicknamed Ozie. In fact, I cannot recall a single member in the drumline being from Watertown. Jay McMahon joined 27th briefly in winter of 72-73, but left for BAC with 3 or 4 of the others before the 73 season.

St_Marys64
6'9" Tall? Now even I might have remembered him!! I don't remember an Ozie either...... <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I’m Shocked, even LANCERFI is questioning the accuracy of my comments, and memory? As far as the 6’9” guy?.......... maybe 6’2”......... I just remember Watertown at the Beverly Show, the cymbal playing was twice the size of any of the other drummers. Ozie may not have taken his Nickname on the trip from Watertown to Revere? Perhaps he played Bass or Tom? We currently have field agents in Revere, Watertown, and the Brighton area, on the streets interrogating any and all Locals that may lead us to the FACTS. We hope to have “his real name” very soon. and have also set-up a Green, Khaki, and Amber alert, or you can call the hot line 1 888 finda27 All of us at The Federal Bureau of Drum Corps aka The FBD, are commented to resolving these discrepancies quickly, and peacefully, no matter how long it takes or cost. Check The Agency Web Site for news updates ,as we reveal, discover, and unfold, all the details of this,,,,,,,,,,,,“Drum Corps Mystery” LancerFi........ have I ever mislead you ? Best REGARDS, Agent ST.MARY64 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Boy what diversions to pacify LancerFi ! Her knowledge of the 27 guard is impeccable and spans a generation. Why, she even dated a few 27 drummers during her tenure. You've got to be in sales with those lines. :P I must admit to some forgetfulness for those "weak sisters" that joined and quit in during the wintah months, but my memory of those who lasted through an entire season is pretty good. You might want to have the FBD check for AWOL Ozie's along the river banks of the Charles.

After the all night search from Watertown to Revere, some of the Detainee’s, brought into the FBD Center, started to spill their guts. Agents were tip-off that some suspects were actually trying to flee, by boat, from the infamous Kelly’s Roast Beef. We are told that a lot of information is being reviewed and verified, and The FBD hope to have some answers, and names very soon.
