Walter
If anybody has any pictures of the Flying Dutchmen, Dutch Boy Cadets or the Northstars from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, during the 70's, would you please post them. I don't have any from that period of my drum corps career and I would love to have some!!!! Thanks.

ZenJones
For Zen Jones You in this one?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Dan, I just emailed you about this one... it's a heartbreaker- That would be my arm (and edge of my tenor) at the very left in this photo :( but much more heartbreaking (and serious) is the tenor drummer 2nd from the right... my great pal Steve Weekes who just recently passed away after a very long battle with ALS. RIP Brother Interesting sidenote... to the left of Steve is Scott Pearson (multiple year I&E Tenor Champ) and far right on tenors... I do believe the current Corps Director of Phantom Regiment. We were all so young (and old). Edited March 27, 2005 by ZenJones
ZenJones
Or this one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yee-Haw!! I'm in one! That would be I... smack dead center of the photo on tenors. :) This is from prelims in Hamilton right Dan? If so, that was a dark day for us if memory serves. Show was still very buggy and new everything (uniforms to music style to drill concept... very atypical Madison show for that time). Lots of phasing problems that day... lots of unhappy faces from staff & members and many, many push-ups during rehearsal. Chaos. ZenJones
How about this one? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeppers, far left tenor... dig the dancing hornline-which was actually a big deal back in those dark ages of drum corps. Finals at Hamilton... again more phasing, more confusion and chaos from staff & members. That photo was taken right after the tenor feature in the drum solo if I recall. It was either during the opener or closer that night that one half of the hornline phased by nearly 2 counts at the end of the piece. I remember 2 things clearly... someone off to my right mumbling, "Jesus Christ" at the end of Colas and a drum judge walking behind us after Strawberry Soup and commenting into his tape recorder, "Come on guys, show me something... you're Madison Scouts! What's going on?" The audience was going nuts loving us... we were dying out there. Edited March 27, 2005 by ZenJones
