Kingsmen around 1976

Kingsmenaround1976-1.jpg

Actually, this is 1974 as those are the flags we used and I recognize some of thos soprano players...

I believe that is during the slow march in Berlioz.

The picture above of the Troopers' rifle line from 1981 reminds me of just how talented those girls were. They were one of the cleanest, tightest lines I can remember. They may not have done the big tricks of 27, had the power of Madison or Phantom, or the speed of Cavies, but they nailed everything. I miss that kind of precision.

I marched sop with the Troopers in 81. Jones through in the “triple over back” either for second tour or prelims and finals, I can’t remember when it was added to the show. The riffles tossed a triple while marching backwards as the sop line marched forwards between them. The first try at practice a riffle miss-tossed and it came down my hand and sop sending the horn smashing to the asphalt pavement. Jones was not impressed. None of the riffles ever missed that toss again as far as I can remember.

Oh man! That GPM picture really took me back a few years. I know I have a picture of the soloist from "Big Spender" at home. I will look for it, scan it and post.

Well the photo has to be 79 because thats when the tromboniums were tested. The guy without the hat I think is Tony Smalley.
