tommytimp
For Dan Guernsey...Some photos of the Madison Scouts from the 1960s: Man, I wish they would use that bass drum logo as a lettehead or Web header. That's fantastic. Speaking of fantastic, Who dat? Ha haaaa!!! This is Fantasia, yes? From A Day 1982. Imperial Guard, one of a few Open Class corps that went on on Friday in 82: Arbella 82, their only year as a co-ed corps, looking a little like BD 75:

Jim Anello
For Dan Guernsey...Some photos of the Madison Scouts from the 1960s: Uploaded with ImageShack.us If you enlarge the upper picture, you'll see that the Madison CG members weren't carrying rifles. Instead, they carried...spears, pikes...what WERE they carrying? Also, can you give me the low down on why? Nobody else carried these in 1966, so I was always fascinated by them. As a snot-nosed, 15 year old in 1966, I loved this corps. Great horn sound. Thanks for posting these, Brian! P.S. - Can anybody pick out Bill Schrak in this picture? Jim Anello
Another 1971 shot of 32nd Hussar, showing their famed horse guard. As I recall, the DM's uniforms for this corps were fantastic. You get of sense of them by looking closely at the horse guards. Edited May 26, 2010 by Jim Anello

Also, can you give me the low down on why? Scout units, in that era, were not allowed by the BSA to carry real or simulated weapons. However, in 1967 Madison DID carry guard sabres. While staying at Tulane University in Nawlins for VFW Nats, the Kilties borrowed them to use as beer can openers.
