sarnia sam
Sorry about that, my name is Dean. Bill Ellis was the Corps Dir. from 73-76. Bill changed my life. Were the 84 unis the same as 83? I think I might have one. Most of the pics that I am posting are from Alumni who have sent me their pics and what my dad took. Sorry but it is hit or miss at best. I marched with Larry. Do you know Mark Petty? You and I have one thing in common. I played Hill where the Lord Hides and you taught it. Did you know that song was arranged by Jim Ott? You need to come visit Gwest this up coming season. I know for a fact there are pics from 84 in the archive room. It is always nice meeting Glassmen Family members.Dean You know, now that you mention it, I knew your name was Dean and I knew who Bill was. Too late, long day yesterday. Anyway, Yes I know Mark, worked with him in Sarnia. If I get to Toledo again, I certainly would have a visit to Gwest on the agenda. Thanks. danguernsey
Looks like 6 drummers; you can see the sticks of the closest snare in the picture, but not the face. Pic is early '73, before the switch to white aussies. Scouts had 6 snares that year. From L to R: Mark Murray ('73-'76), Craig Matthews ('71-'78), Larry Stormer ('69-'75), Laki Theo ('71-'78), Joe Murray ('72-'76), and Chris Theo ('68-'75, closest snare with face cut off). tommytimp
closest snare with face cut off. Was that some sort of initiation ritual for new Scouts? Cause it's GROSS.
MsBusDriver
('68-'75, closest snare with face cut off). I thought Madison "Blew" faces off back then... Go figure! ...
Jocko the Wonder Llama
('68-'75, closest snare with face cut off). But what a stud to march after sustaining that kind of injury.

So very important to honor the folks that marched. I've set up a Facebook account dedicated to 27th. Uploaded over 800 photos, all sorted by year from 1868 to 1986, and the alumni corps in 1994 and 95. I have also been given many photos that I did not have. So many 2-7 alumni have helped ID the warriors that mde it possible for me to march. Thanks Dan for naming your brothers ! Didn't Laki get into commercial graphics - wasn't he involved in the layout of the DCI Yearbook for several years? Jim

As for the Scouts, Laki's older brother, Chris, was a graphic designer. He designed several album covers of the DCI championship records in the late 70s and early 80s ('78, '79, and '80). If I recall, he also did some layout design for the DCI yearbooks back in the 70s. He is currently a professor of graphic design at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. A talented guy. All six of them marched in the 75 championship year. Love when loyalty pays of for people.
