I mean, I know shes suppose to be "Carmen" and there show is based around Carmen...but honestly....... WHAT is she doing?!? She is a major destraction from a very good show. But the show would honestly be better if she wasn't there. At least they could use her more like Phantom is using there guy in the guard....and have her do some equipment work. No offense, cause shes just doing her job...but i would be embarrased if I were her parents. Scouts having the guest performer is holding back there show. All she does is prance around. It gets really boring after a while. Which leads me to my next issue....and this is more with everyone.... Why don't Color Guards do equipment work anymore. It's all dance and role-playing. I love the show in general. I love her appearance and her exit is fine...it's all the in between stuff. But then again...you know she really is just a prop for the corp. I don't know that I want to see her throwing rifles, waving a flag. She IS the flag...you know?? Next year I want to see the I Dream of Jeannie theme with her popping out of a bottle, NOW THAT WOULD BE CUTE eh? The Cavies are beating the Scouts because their show is more creative and innovative. The whole baseball thing is just great. Carmen is a beautiful show...truly. And I admire them for stepping outside their norm and doing something different, but creative? Ummm, not particularly. chadwick Posted July 19, 2005 Share Posted July 19, 2005 I agree and disagree.... I like Carmen in their show....I think it adds some flair and keeps the show together. Her movements can be seen very well from the stands as compared to some of the slow dancing some corps have. I do wish, however, she could use some equipment. I doubt her parents are embarrassed....I would be very proud if that were my daughter. She has a specific role in that show and she performs it very well. Her uniform, yes, it is a little bare....but wow, it sure does pop from the stands. That red sticks out and goes well with the guys unis. Speaking of....those unis the guys in the guard wear are one of my all time favorites. Lastly, I agree. There is a little too much dance sometimes. I do enjoy it, but I hope the amount of it doesn't increase too much more than it is now in relation to equipment work. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
