Recommended Posts

How about San Diego alliance?

According to a email from Darrin from San Diego Alliance. I was told if they did good with there Independent Drumline this past winter and can get sponorships and etc. There might be a chance they would return in 2006 season. But I havent heard anything else from them as of yet!

I think I read somewhere that Scenic City, from Chattanooga, was making the transition into a senior corps...? I could be wrong though.

And Eklipse's director posts here sometimes, so he could probably give you an update on their return. :)

Just a quick report on Hypnotix...

We just bought new Kanstul horns and Dynasty drums.  Its going to be an exciting year for Hypnotix!

Tentatively, only 4 Euphs and NO BARITONES?? :(

We plan on being a large Div 3 corps. As such, we decided on euphs rather than baritones to give a little more depth to the sound.

To have a front ensemble and a decent battery and guard, and still stay under 70 members you cannot have everything (darn!).

We tentaitively plan on 8 to 10 trumpets, 6 mellophones, 4 euphs, and 4 tubas. That would be 24 brass. 13 in the battery, 8 to 10 in the pit, 4 to 5 plates (depending on the auditions) and 15 to 20 guard members and a DM.

All subject to change of course.

BTW, I don't believe Eklipse has any intention of puting a corps on the field in 2006 or in the near future. They have an outstanding Winter Guard program which is the main focus at the moment. To my knowledge they have no equipment at all and no plans to move in that direction.

Note: I did read it was tentative.

with the perc and guard numbers you gave you can have up to 31 horns and that would but you at 79. 4 Euphs agains't 8-10 trumpets is asking for balance problems. maybe a line of 8-10 sops, 4-6 mello, 6-8 euphs, 3-4 tubas, total of 21 - 28. That could balance out the low end of the ensemble (brass and perc)
