Lunchb0x
ok i just watched MTV's hit reality show MADE and i was thinking..... if they can turn Josh into a varsity soccer player, why not turn any average joe drum corps fan into a corps member? think about it! it would give the activity so much spotlight and be an enjoyable episode. some of these concepts in this show are so ridiculous, so y not? im sure many ppl say, "yeah lots of people have said that already." but why not get more people involved? lets actually try and get this thing goin! bsbari211
I've thought about that exact same idea so many times. I'd watch it, it would be sweet.
Strongo
I wonder how many people have sent in "I wanna be a Blue Devil/Cavalier/Vanguard/Cadet/[insert corps name here]" ####, I'd still do it, smack dab in the middle of my drum corps career...if they'd pay my way, talk about a sponsorship! baristeve
It would have to be somebody who started off not very good at all... like not knowing how to play/march very well then have like the best instructors EVER come and teach him for like 3 months. Half of the day could be devoted to playing and then the other half marching fundamentals!! it would be sweet.
jonnyboy
I just saw "Josh" become a soccer player......lol. Everyone makes the team at his school, and I don't think they showed the score when Josh went in....maybe they were winning or loser by a wide margin. Great idea though, you should submit it to MTV. I think a more realistic epidsode would be for some kid to make the drumline at their school, or move up from bass to snare or 2nd/3rd chair to first chair. A few years ago Spike Lee was doing Nike (or levis) comercials and they had an add campaign for cool things people do in their levis. I submitted the idea of my drumline practicing but I never heard back from them....boo hoo....I could have been a star.
Evan
I think we have seen MTV's stance towards the marching arts. Last year, a girl from the high school I graduated from was on Made, she brought up marching band several times, and they (the girl, and her coach) went well out of their way to poke fun at the high school marching band. I think it would be great to see this, but I dont see it happening any time soon. Just my $4.
B0Boman
Maybe this could somehow fit in with MTV's "save the music campaign"? Or was that VH1? I don't know, I don't really watch either. But I would definately watch it if they used your idea! A few years ago Spike Lee was doing Nike (or levis) comercials and they had an add campaign for cool things people do in their levis. I submitted the idea of my drumline practicing but I never heard back from them....boo hoo....I could have been a star. That wouldn't quite work for me because my intructors don't allow jeans at rehersal :o cool idea, though.
CorpsBuff
A girl who now goes to my College was on there. She was profiled as a "Band Geek" and was "Made" into a Basketball player.
