2001 Roland Garceau, Syracuse Brigadiers

Oh how I miss Roland and his playing. Memories of the years with Dutch Boy and Blue Devils. Ok I am alright now.

That is incorrect. Wayne Robertson won the award in 1992. With all due respect to Wayne the reason why he won the award was because it was discovered that the person who was originally to be named "Best Soloist" was paid to perform with the Drum Corps he was playing with that year, and Wayne traveled up from Florida all that year without being paid, on his own to perform with the Skyliners.

Great! A former Miami Vanguard finally wins something and it has an astersek
