geluf
Spirit - CR is a new one to me. Thats because it isn't SPIRIT - CR, its SEATTLE - CR. In 04 when I marched cap reg, there was deffinately a bit of a rivalry going on and I know it went on to some extent last season as well. The past 2 seasons these 2 corps have gone neck and neck through the whole season. Its all friendly of course, but I'd say it counts. Jared_mello
Rivalries: Blue Devils vs. Santa Clara Vanguard Cavaliers vs. Cadets (Alternating Champs every 5 years at least) Phantom Regiment vs. Madison Scouts Carolina Crown vs. Boston Crusaders Bluecoats vs. Blue Knights Glassmen vs. Crossmen Colts vs. Southwind Spirit vs. Capital Regiment Southwind vs. Seattle Cascades Mandarins vs. Pioneer Esperenza vs. Pacific Crest *All non-bold rivalries are rumors I've heard. Wow, you definitely went out on a limb on a LOT of these. I'd say at least 75% of these are completely false. To clarify on my own corps' behalf, I'll just mention that I'm almost completely positive that I didn't hear the Blue Knights' name once on tour this year, except in the occasion that we were playing America O' Canada and their score was announced in retreat, tenths behind SCV. We certainly don't have any kind of dispute with them. I hate to sound like I'm hatin on the younger ones...but it seems like the older members have a better perspective of which corps were rivals. It takes more then a season of trading scores to be a great rival (IMhumbleO). Don't feel bad about saying it when it's a completely true, and obvious statement. You're very much correct, on both accounts; couldn't agree with that more. It's almost frustrating, really, the the pettiness in which these "rivalries" are conjured up.
