mvbailey12
I could totally see something like Down on the Corner or Proud Mary or Born on the Bayou. That would be pretty awesome!
dmfootworks
Didn't Madison have a Devil Went Down To Georgia percussion solo? Maybe it was Spirit, that makes more sense... Regarding Madison, you might be thinking of Duelling Banjos, from Deliverance, which was set in Georgia.
dmfootworks
I would like to see some Creedence Clearwater Revival on the field. I don't know if it falls under the country category (probably rock), but it's country-ish. It's sort of country-ish, but really more swampish. I've always gotten a kick out of that because they're from the Bay Area -- same county as the Blue Devils.

PhantomFanT10
I never thought I'd see this topic. Now here's an interesting thing, a few months ago I was driving along to school listening to 98.3fm (Country; my second favorite music right after corps) and I was tapping out some stuff on the wheel and I was thinking "Wow...some of this could probably make a good show!" Maybe not at the corps level but some of today's more modern and progressive country music (especially the slow songs) could really be arranged quite nicely for the field. Would I like to see it done, probably not unless it can be done in a way that eliminates all cheese. There's a lot of good country music. I think eventually it might happen. MikeD
Always thought a great number for the Troopers would be a ballad of "Desperado", the old Eagles tune.
Jim Clark
Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here? Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country AND western.
