OK, I'll bite. Playing it was a blast too. Even though I was an end snare, those North triples had such a deep awesome sound. Check out the photos below. In '81 if you are facing the snare line, I'm on the left (my right).

Well – this thread and other things going on have got me thinking back during the last couple of days. The only music I have from 81 is Hurricanes, Bucs, Sun and Regionnaires. Wish I had more (I should NEVER have loaned my records from that year…)

But OMG – the music! That was one fun year.

Other stuff – Matadors – half the size of anyone else but they blew the house down. Crusaders playing School Days and throwing the Frisbees into the stands during the sop glis. I remember watching Cabs doing their 160 or so bpm streetbeat and trying to march across the really sticky track to the field – don’t know how they pulled that off.

And Pepe – awwww…….. there will never be another Pepe…… At one show that year he wandered into our retreat block and rearranged our guard into a tight line so that one of our girls could sit down behind them. Pepe had noticed she looked sick and wanted to help.

Sigh.......
