MCA Posted February 21, 2006 Share Posted February 21, 2006 With so many Div II and III's folding these past few years and little evidence that DCI is doing much to try and assist smaller corps...has anyone else wondered why DCI has very rarely supported Div II/III in DCI Today? Anyone who orders any DCI Merch gets a subscription with their order but I do not ever recall seeing an article dedicated to any div II/III corps. To me at least, this seems like a very easy way for DCI to show some support of smaller corps and take what I think could be a big step towards getting the larger drum corps populus to pay attention to Div II/III Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Let's start a major write-in/call-in campaign. It sometimes works with TV shows that get cancelled when the fans get a grass roots movement started to bring the show back. audiodb Posted February 22, 2006 Share Posted February 22, 2006 Sorry, my DCI Today subscription has been sporadic, so I have to ask this question. Seems to me that DCI is still doing a good job keeping II/III included in the "news" section of the website. I know DCI Today never had that same degree of balance, but it was much better than, say, the recent TV broadcasts which make no mention of II/III's existence. Both only participate in the mass playing of America/O Canada at retreat. Another good question I would like to know the answer to is why the Div II/III champions arent allowed to do an exibition. Seth_h Posted February 22, 2006 Share Posted February 22, 2006 I remember they did an exhibition in 2002, because Revo did theirs and then on the loud speaker they said the Division 2 Champion won't perform in exhibition because they are competing in Finals.
