torn8o
This is a cool thread! Yeah! Little less depressing and a LOT less destructive to the overall morale of the activity than the thread it mirrors.
madscout96
Yeah! Little less depressing and a LOT less destructive to the overall morale of the activity than the thread it mirrors. Depressing or no, it's still true that we've lost more than we've gained. Look at the list posted by bluecoats88. We've lost 55 and gained 21 since 1996. And I think it should be 56 lost. I don't think the Joliet Kingsmen are still active are they? And Marion Glory Cadets should make it 57, since they weren't active in 2005 (same reason that Bandettes and Americanos were on the list). For the Marion Cadets I actually left them off the lost corps since I thought they were still active. I must have missed Joliet Kingsmen

ItsOnTheField
H.Y.P.E. came from Conquror II.... The name change happened in 2000, but still basically the same corps, I believe.
Northern Thunder
I just counted the corps on my Drum Corps World census (that seemed to attract so much attention on another thread). Between 1996 and 2005 there were 106 BRAND NEW North American junior corps which became active (give or take a few.....that's alot of corps to go through). This doesn't include the reborn or "resurrected" corps, which would be a more impressive number. These are just the new juniors that were organized during that span. Best thing I've seen today. :) My next thought is what kind of corps Div I/II/III or other type were they when they started and what kind are they today. From the names I've seen on this thread it seems like a lot of the new corps are starting out small as a way to endure long term survival. Gbassman5
Revolution did not field a corps in 04, but came back last year... umm... i can't think of any others that haven't been mentioned...

According to that census, how many corps were lost and didn't come back between 1996 and 2005?
