t-mac
I think we played that show to. And yes I believe it was. I am such an idiot! I just remembered that it was BD who won the Night Beat show in Charlotte in '92 (how could I possibly forget hearing "When a Man Loves A Woman" from the 5th row during the encore?). I was thinking about the next night in Winston Salem when Star won and did a shortened encore. There were close to 9 corps there I believe (including a "surprise" appearance by SCV which was AWESOME!). A friend and I were so jazzed that we drove 12 hours up to Bloomington IN the following Sat. for DCI Mid-America, saw the show (awesome show, like 8 of the top 12!) and then drove back to NC on two hours sleep in a rest area. Wouldn't do it again, but wouldn't trade the experience either.

socalcontra
1982 Blue Devils 24.7 in brass...not much more to say than that (and yes, I am biased because I was there)! Honorable Mention 1979, 1980, 1986 BD
laurasop
1983 Suncoast Sound. Yes I am bias. Best hornline I have ever played with. Talk about overtones in a horn arc. My second choice would be 1983 and 1984 Garfield Cadets. IMHO, there hasn't been a hornline to compare to those two years of Garfield Cadets.
