kusankusho
Gee, guess what I think on that topic...one of my own favorite shows of the past decade or so is Crown 2004...voice and all...but also on the list are lots of others with no voice.Thanks... Must....resist...urge to......argue........ :sshh:
Jeff Ream
No because you are reaching out to the ridiculous as opposed to reality. THAT is what I see as irrational. no it's not. if they make the rules, then it is what the say...and if they pass this rule, then it's drum corps to them by your own definition
Jeff Ream
Reaching out to the absurd is the kind of thing that used to always happen at the judging clinics I'd attend...I thought them silly then as I do now. I say drum corps is what the rules makers decide...and that is fine by me...because they do not go reaching out to the absurd, so how can I even comment on something so far removed from reality as what you postulate? a few years ago, singing into a microphone on the field was absurd. Jeff Ream
Drum corps is marching band, just w/o WW and electronics at the current time. wrong answer george
Jeff Ream
If true - I won't be around to watch. This is an unusually sparse year for me, but so far I have 2 DCA and only one DCI show on my calendar (not Madison). Could be a trend if DCI continues to go in this direction. I still do not understand why BOA etc isn't enough for you. Why do woodwinds have to conquer the world? because one time, at band camp........... Jeff Ream
Mike is an amp and woodwind loving poopie head! :P
MikeD
a few years ago, singing into a microphone on the field was absurd. Actually no, it was not. It wasn't legal in drum corps, but it was not an absurd concept.
Jeff Ream
actually it was. only one person discussed it, and we ignored it
MikeD
actually it was. only one person discussed it, and we ignored it What was absurd to me was NOT permitting amps and micced vocals long ago.
