Jeff Ream
with all this great stuff about RCA on here, what's the story on ICA which followed it? I can't seem to find the scores anywhere online
Pgh Guy
Hey Jeff, ICA wasn't the next circuit to follow RCA....There was a small circuit called AIDCA where the crowd had a hand in picking the winner of the evenings show.....If memory serves me correctly, Yankee Rebels, Tyrone Gardner Gaurd, Sharpsburg Cadets Sr., Westernport Blue Angels and a couple more were associated with the circuit.....The Pittsburgh Rockets start-up junior corps did an exhibition within the circuit 1978/79.....You bought your ticket, watched the show, voted from within your program book, passed the votes into the center aisle, the votes were counted and a winner was declared....I think the circuit only lasted apx. (2) two years because ICA was being discussed and formed in 1980/81.... Just some ramblings from an old pharte that remembers/marched/instructed in all three circuits....RCA....AIDCA....ICA.... Pgh Guy
Hey Jeff, I think Ohio Brass, Erie Thunderbirds, Yankee Rebels, Hanover Lancers, Renaissance, Tyrone Gardner Guard, Cambria Cadets, Westernport Blue Angels were some of the early members of the ICA 1980 circuit....There is quite a bit of info/scores @ Ron's Sr Corps.com website.....I don't know who won the championship in 1980 but here are the others: ICA CHAMPIONSHIP 1980-?????????? 1981-Erie Thunderbirds 1982-Steel City 1983-Steel City 1984-Tie(Steel City/Empire Statesmen) 1985-Rochester Crusaders 1986-Empire Statesmen 1987-Empire Statesmen 1988-Empire Statesmen 1989-Empire Statesmen If memorys serves me correctly, RCA Circuit from 1969 thru 1978 AIDCA Circuit from 1979 thru 1980 (overlapped with ICA for one(1) year) ICA Circuit from 1980 thru 1989 Any or/and all additions/subtractions are welcome....Memory not to keen these days, brain damage from bus fumes.....I hope the info helps..... Dennis Argul
I remember that show (sort of) in 1982 with Bush. All the way to Ohio on busses for a weekend as a Senior Corps. It was on heck of a busride. That I remember!
