Pioneer ought to play songs from U2's 'War.'

Recommended Posts

It's Celtic, it's martial, and it's one of the top 5 albums of the 1980s. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" would be as great of an opener as anyone can ask for, "Drowning Man" is one of the most beautiful and uplifting songs they've written, and "40" allows for tasteful and interesting unamped vocals from the whole corps. There's an awesome trumpet solo in "Red Light." Pioneer isn't fighting for the Top 12 any time soon, so I don't see the harm in doing a fan-friendly crowd-pleasing show that can provide some interesting interpretations of one of the biggest band's best albums. 'course, I'm a U2 fanboy, so don't mind me.

Might not be bad- any idea what Bono charges for licensing fees?

Trust me, that one has been on the table and has been discussed.....I was never involved in those choices so I cannot judge if it was good or bad not to go with it.....I'd like to see it. I once suggested to do a show called "Irish Rock, the music of the Simple MInds, U2 and The Cranberries".

Isn't Van Morrison Irish? His song catalog has some great variety and the Cadets played "Moondance" so it is possible to get the rights to use his music.

You know what my first thought was when I read the title of this post? "Oh god, not another slam Pioneer for sticking to the Irish theme". But I was too fast with my judgement. This is actually much more constructive. Why don't you guys also e-mail Pioneer your ideas. I know Roman appreciates constructive feedback, really!

You know, Welsh music is also considered Celtic, so here's an idea for Roman:

Noson lawen--The Welsh music of Tom Jones:

"It's Not Unusual"

"What's New, Pussycat?"

"Delilah"

"She's A Lady"

"Green, Green Grass of Home"
