Top ten Blue Devils shows of "all time"

Umm, <gasps> Is it only the one sentence ??

If you found it in your heart to enjoy what Crossmen have done, you'll love this addition. Yeah, it's just the one line from the movie, and it's part of several little tweaks they made to bring the Godfather theme out a little more. I found it very effective. :){

It was during a, for me, nonsensical pause musically

I've only seen drum corps live for 22 years, so I can't go back beyond that for shows I've seen live. Here are some of my favs

1994 -- Hands down my favorite BD show. The unifying theme of the heart all the way thru, the great soloists, the awesome guard.

1986 -- Just an overall great show.

1997 -- Casablanca worked wonders. That rotating box in the opener was awesome! "Night In Tunisia" was the tune of the summer for me.

1988 -- Didn't think they would end up 3rd (2nd maybe, but that's another thread). All of the tunes were wonderful. I've attempted to play the big band version of "Old Black Magic" that they played that year -- tough! Loved "Goodbye Yesterday". And the false ending and the sops at the end as the corps went off field was phenomenal.

1990 -- Knew one of the soloists from the Tommy show, so I was always dug that show.

1992 -- "When a Man Loves a Woman" -- need I say more?

Thanks for the 84 prop, Larry...we were running the 1990 vids on the way home from Sunnyvale today, and I remembered how much I love your solos in the 90 show!

I haven't seen too much of the ol' Blue Devils, unfortunately. I love the 1986 show, but what the heck are they wearing? Puffy shirts?

I think you're referring to the ruffles in teh jacket opening, correct?

Remember that the uni was originally designed in 1976...and back then, a ruffled front was fairly common on men's formal wear. NOT on the Marine Officer's mess Dress jacket (which the 76-93 uni is based on), however.

It wasn't even a full shirt...it was a dickey. The full tux shirts didn;t come in until the 88 black jackets.
