badmatchespartdos
What was it that killed it for ya? The narration, the warbling during the ballad, or the nonsensical tom-foolery prancing about the field ??~G~ Yes. Everything you listed minus the narration. Maybe I should have suggested that to the design team. It would have made the program more cohesive.
JustABandMom
I like the concept of the show. I like that the characters are interspersed throughout the show, the great drum feature, the 70's flower designs, the beautiful horns in the ballad. I like the feelings that are depicted through the music and the drill. I like the subtleness of the music and its use to build effects. I like the mad tea party feature in the topsy-turvy world of wonderland. I love the energy in the show and that there is always something interesting to watch. I like the guard work with the consecutive sabre tosses. I love the energy in the closer, the great drill and the maze with the characters cavorting and running throughout, and the way the music builds to the final frantic, modulating twilight zone theme. I like that they are always moving and never still. I think they've done a great job of depicting a crazy dream in an outlandish world. I think my favorite thing about the show is the ENERGY! Just like last year's show, they pick you up and take you along for the ride. To me, it's great imagineering - like one of the attractions at disney where your seat moves and you are transported for a time into another world. It's a good ride and it's fun! I would agree with everything that you said... ...if she show included no amplified vocals. Shame.
Matt_S
It is a shame. It's a shame that you are so willing to allow amplified vocals to ruin the show for you.

How am I "allowing" amped vocals to ruin it for me? No matter how hard I try to like this show, I can't. I'm not just saying that. The Cadets are my absolute favorite drum corps ever, bar none...why would I intentionally limit myself from liking their show?

Just curious....When did you see the Cadets show LIVE and in person last? They have changed so many things in it....I really enjoyed it before and now its even better.
