The week of finals... what's gonna happen?

* Are we gonna see yet ANOTHER flip-flop at the top?

* Are the Cadets gonna tumble down to 6th or make their way up to 3rd?

* Is SCV gonna steam roll the Coats and Cadets?

* Are the Blue Stars gonna make semis?

* Are the Blue Knights gonna best Boston??

After seeing everyone in Allentown

My predictions:

01 - Cavaliers- Love the show, just enough room to clean and grow for championship weeks.

02 - Phantom- Love the show and would love to see them win it all.

03 - Blue Devils- Great show, closer than above two corps to maxing it out.

04 - Bluecoats- I think the brass and drums will keep them ahead of the next two.

05 - Santa Clara Vanguard- This killer drill is really starting to click and gel!

06 - Cadets

07 - Crown

08 - Blue Knights

09 - Madison

10 - Boston

11 - Glassmen

12 - Spirit

13 - Colts

14 - Blue Stars- Great brass line might edge them out over the next two

15 - Capital Regiment- fun show

16 - Crossmen- fun show, but some performance problems, dirty drums and weak upper brass.

17 - Mandarins- loved this show.

Each of the next four have nice show. Each corps has different strengths and weaknesses. The rankings could (and probably will) go any way.

20 - Pacific Crest

22 - Esperanza

23 - Pioneer- What has the brass staff been doing this summer??? not teaching me thinks. :(

With a season where so much jockeying for position has been happening, there are two spots that have been uncontested. I know that Spirit has not moved from 12th all season long in head to head competition. The corps has never beaten anyone ahead of them, although the gap has been trimmed ever so close lately, and no one from behind them has passed them...not once.

I believe the same can be said for Glassmen too. I don't think they've moved.

Crossmen and Colts have changed positions in 13th and 14th, so they've seen movement, although it is not much.

Heading into finals, Spirit's narrowed the gap to Glassmen as close as it's been yet. Maybe we'll see them mix it up this week? And Colts have inched up, although not in head to head compitition.

I think however, as much as I'd love to see Spirit move up and beat at least one corps ahead of them this season, that things from 11th -14th will remain the same. It seems to me that if there is any movement in the ranks, it will be from the 6th-10th place corps.

I see Cavies in 1st. I hope that show doesn't get beaten. It's tops in my book.

I'd like to see Phantom in 2nd, but I predict BD will be there with the Regiment in 3rd.

Bluecoats and Cadets in 4th and 5th respectively.

6th - SCV.

7th-10th??? Crown, BK, Boston, Madison...toss up for position.

11th - Glassmen. 12th Spirit.

My predictions:

01 - The Cavaliers..."the machine" cannot and will not be stopped, not this year...

02 - Blue Devils..."the godfather" cannot execute the hit on the Cavies, so must finish at second

03 - Phantom Regiment...had a good few weeks at nipping at the top two spots, but i feel they will not be able to do it.

04 - The Cadets...most will not agree...but i feel that the Cadets will play their butts off and do amazing, maybe challenge PR

05 - Blue Coats...great finish...and hopefully will continue next year...

06 - Santa Clara Vanguard...I think they had a great surge at the end and could take BLOO out...but not any farther...

07 - Carolina Crown...looked pretty good at J. Birney, but won't be able to advance any further...should be worried about Boston

08 - Boston Crusaders...looks like they have a chance to overtake Crown, but cleaning is a must, and something that I don't think will happen...

09 - Blue Knights...looked pretty good at Allentown, Gmen shouldn't pose a threat

10 - Glassmen...Scouts will challenge..no doubt, but the Gmen will be able to hold off

11 - Madison Scouts...though I think they will be higher...their show is...dirty...except for percussion...whoa!

12 - Spirit...they got the last spot...the deserve it

13 - Colts...almost there, but not good enough to get to the finals...maybe next year?

14 - Crossmen....wishing they were higher....but very dirty...

15 - Capital Regiment...will be nipping at Xmen's feet...

16 - Blue Stars...I think they will fall comfortable in number 16..but could get up to 14 easily if Xmen and Stars have a bad night.

17 - Mandarins...good show...will give them 17...no higher or lower...

18 - Southwind

19 - Seatle

20 - Pac. Crest

21 - the Magic

22 - Esperanza

23 -Pioneer...maybe next year???????????
