  1. First off, if this violates the YouTube policy, I apologize. Because this is a video of the crowd reaction - not a performance, a warm-up, or a encore - I believe it's OK to post it here. <removed>
  2. Colts. 2007 Colts reminded me of 2002 Crown. As in, "Wow, where did THAT come from?" I think they can jump all the way to 7th next year.
  3. That's a good way to view this debate. I would also put 2007 Blue Devils 5th this decade, but my rankings are different: 1. 2000 Cavaliers 2. 2002 Cavaliers 3. 2000 Cadets 4. 2006 Cavaliers 5. 2007 Blue Devils 6. 2005 Cadets 7. 2001 Cavaliers 8. 2003 Blue Devils 9. 2004 Cavaliers (of note, only one of those shows - 2000 Cavaliers - makes my list of favorite 5 shows this decade. Along with 2000 Cavies, I put 2003 Phantom, 2004 SCV, 2007 Crown, and 2005 Bluecoats)
  4. 1. Crown 2. Phantom 3. Colts 4. Blue Devils 5. Southwind (watched their hornline warm up in Indy with this ballad - absolutely beautiful)
  5. I'm really glad Crown finished 6th, only so they can claim this season as their highest finish ever. As someone else said, 5-7 was essentially a 3 way tie. But the line between 7th and 8th this year was enormous. No disrespect to BK or BAC, but it was. The difference when one of those 7 came on the field was palpable. I'm interested to see the development of these 4-7 corps in the next few years. Since 1992, one of the Big Three has walked out of finals night with a trophy. Can any of this next tier break through consistently? And will it be a three tier system for a while? (BD, Cadet, Cavie; then SCV, PR, Bloo, and Crown; then everyone else)
  6. I agree. From the first listen to the June APD, I thought the Blue Devils would win it all this year. The show has everything. For some reason, it reminds me of 85 & 86 BD.
  7. Ah yes, 1985 Suncoast. The show that made me a fan of the activity. Quick story - while going through my dad's things after his death, I found an old cassette tape of the 1985 finals. I popped it in my car, listened to that Suncoast show about 219 times, and was hooked. I looked up DCI on the internet, went to see the Scouts and Cadets in 2000, and have been rabidly addicted the past 8 seasons. Thanks, 1985 Suncoast.
  8. Just think if this had happened 2 hours ago.
  9. I absolutely love 2002 Seattle Cascades. Best 12th place show ever.
  10. Isn't this also the first time they've ever finished top-5 at a All-Corps show? Great job, Cream Team. I can't put into words how much I love this show. As I said in the other thread, I've now placed 2007 Carolina Crown in my Pantheon of Outstanding Shows this Decade. They join 2000 Cavies, 2003 Phantom, and 2004 SCV in this elite group.
  11. Cue the "Blue Stars are in 10th!" threads with the afternoon/evening score differences.
  12. I'm witcha Bawker. It didn't grab me, and the more they increase the cop speak, the more I wonder why people are ragging The Cadets and praising Bloo
  13. I hadn't heard Blooo since Annapolis - did Hoppy give them some advice about narration frequency??
  14. That's it, I'm calling it. After that performance, I'm putting 2007 Carolina Crown in the Pantheon of Favorite Shows This Decade. Carolina, please take your place next to 2000 Cavies, 2003 Phantom, and 2004 SCV.
  15. After reading this, it's ALL I could hear while watching the show!
  16. This is the Academy's first big top-12 show EVER. Pretty cool for them
  17. the Colts got Cesario involved this year, right? Seems like a Cesario-influenced show, what with all the pageantry and drama.
  18. For the second year in a row, it's Crown. Here's hoping their ovation at Finals comes close to the one they got in Madison.
  19. It took me 3 minutes of looking at this picture before I "got it", even to the point of thinking to myself "hmmm... I wonder why the Troopers DM is still out there." Outstanding photo.
