mobrien
Something that bugs me year after year is the order DCI has for the mass retreat on Saturday night. Putting the top corps all the way out in the stage left endzone is a crappy idea - the order of corps should be alternated so that the corps coming into Finals night in the top four positions will be the four corps that are staged in the center of the field. When you're staging a curtain call, you don't have the leads come on early, and you don't stage their bow all the way at the edge of the proscenium. Line them up so that the on-field order is 12 10 8 6 4 2 1 3 5 7 9 11 ...and you've created more visual interest and made it so that the field of focus gradually narrows toward the center of the field. It's a little thing, to some, but if you're going to stage a curtain call (which is what finale is, in some ways), you might as well do it right. Since they don't play on the field in reverse order of their placement any longer, why does it matter if the upper echelon corps are front and center? PR_ducky
The last year I went to finals (granted that was 96) the winning corps did a full run of its show as a Victory run. Do they still do that at Finals? If so, who cares where they stand during retreat?
