The original absolutely rocks, but the 2007 Skyliners version is somewhat different than what is on Key's website, as we have decided to significantly Skyliner-ize it.

good. you can take existing music and yet make it sound like Sky.

When putting together the 2007 field show, the New York Skyliners Design Team had three requirements; First, the show must be 100% pure New York Skyliners, and unlike any other DCA or DCI corps. Second, the show must contain some of the music that has made the Skyliners legacy come to life over the last 60 years, without it being a simple re-hash of the past. Third, the 2007 New York Skyliners show must bring back the relentless and in-your-face performance style that the New York Skyliners have been known for since the dawn of DCA competition.

It is with great pride and excitement that the New York Skyliners announce their 2007 production, "Murder in Manhattan."

"Murder in Manhattan" is an original show by award winning composer Key Poulan, who has composed music for world-class drum corps including the Santa Clara Vanguard, the Hawthorne Caballeros and the San Francisco Renegades. To give Murder in Manhattan a contemporary competitive edge, the 2007 Design Team has decided to infuse it with some of the greatest music ever played by the New York Skyliners, such as Elks Parade, Harlem Nocturne, Little Old New York and other selections.

"I am very excited about Murder in Manhattan , and I look forward to seeing some stadiums destroyed by our horn line this year," said Director Harry Eldridge Sr. "We are reinventing the New York Skyliners, without losing our ties to the many great Skyliners drum corps that have come before us," added Assistant Director Sean Holton.

Plans are underway to field the largest Skyliners corps in many years, and all New York Skyliners rehearsals are open to everyone this season, regardless of drum corps affiliation. The Skyliners 2007 Open House will be held on Sunday, December 3rd, from 11am - 4pm.
