Hawthorne Caballeros Camp Weekend

December 9th and 10th, 2006

Come check out the Hawthorne Caballeros at our first Winter Camp scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, December 9th and 10th. Join us as we continue to prepare the repertoire for our 2007 program - Carmen! This will be another amazing year for the Caballeros. The Staff, membership and fans will have a year to remember.

Brass and Percussion will rehearse on Saturday, December 9th, 2006 from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm and Sunday, December 10th, 2006 at Hawthorne High School from 12:00 pm till 5:00 pm. Color Guard will rehearse at Washington Elementary School on Sunday, December 10th, from 12:00 pm till 5:00 pm.

New members are welcome in all sections including colorguard, brass, percussion and support. If you are interested in the Caballeros - or if you are just checking out drum corps options - come to our camp weekend.

Directions to Washington Elementary: From Hawthorne High School (see below) continue south on Warburton to Goffle Road. Turn left at Goffle Road - go .6 miles. Turn right at Macfarlan Ave - go .2 miles. Turn left at East Prospect Street and turn left onto Mohawk to the school.

Hawthorne High School (Directions)

160 Parmelee Ave

Hawthorne, NJ 07506

From North Western NJ or North Eastern PA

Take Route 80 east

Get off Route 80 at exit 60 - Hawthorne Route 20

Take Route 20 north to VERY end (bears left at gas Station)

Make a right over bridge to traffic light

Make a left at traffic light onto Wagaraw Rd.

Proceed on Wagaraw Rd. to the first traffic light

Make a right onto Lafayette Ave.

Take Lafayette Ave. through 2 traffic lights (Town Hall will be on the right side at 2nd traffic light)

Turn Left onto Warburton Avenue for about .5 miles.

Turn Right onto Parmelee Avenue. The High School is on your right.

From the Garden State Parkway North

Take Garden State Parkway north to exit 156

Take Route 20 north to VERY end (bears left at gas Station)

Make a right over bridge to traffic light

Make a left at traffic light onto Wagaraw Rd.

Proceed on Wagaraw Rd. to the first traffic light

Make a right onto Lafayette Ave.

Take Lafayette Ave. through 2 traffic lights (Town Hall will be on the right side at 2nd traffic light)

Turn Left onto Warburton Avenue for about .5 miles.

Turn Right onto Parmelee Avenue. The High School is on your right.

From South Western NJ or South Eastern PA

Take the NJ Turnpike north to exit 11 (Garden State Parkway)

Take Garden State Parkway north to exit 156

Take Route 20 north to VERY end (bears left at gas Station)

Make a right over bridge to traffic light

Make a left at traffic light onto Wagaraw Rd.

Proceed on Wagaraw Rd. to the first traffic light

Make a right onto Lafayette Ave.

Take Lafayette Ave. through 2 traffic lights (Town Hall will be on the right side at 2nd traffic light)

Turn Left onto Warburton Avenue for about .5 miles.

Turn Right onto Parmelee Avenue. The High School is on your right.

From New York City/Long Island

Take the George Washington Bridge to Route 80 west

Get off Route 80 at exit 60 - Hawthorne Route 20

Take Route 20 north to VERY end (bears left at gas Station)

Make a right over bridge to traffic light

Make a left at traffic light onto Wagaraw Rd.

Proceed on Wagaraw Rd. to the first traffic light

Make a right onto Lafayette Ave.

Take Lafayette Ave. through 2 traffic lights (Town Hall will be on the right side at 2nd traffic light)

Turn Left onto Warburton Avenue for about .5 miles.

Turn Right onto Parmelee Avenue. The High School is on your right.

From New York State

Take the NY Thruway south to exit 15 (Route 287 south)

Take Route 287 south to Route 208 south

Take 208 south to Goffle Rd. (Hawthorne/Paterson exit)

Make a right from 208 exit ramp onto Goffle Rd.

Go to first traffic light and make a left onto Lafayette Ave.

Proceed on Lafayette Ave for approximately 1.5 miles to the light at Warburton Street. (The Town Hall will be on your left)

Turn Right onto Warburton Street for about .5 miles

Turn Right onto Parmelee Avenue. The High School is on your right.

From Southern New York State

Take Route 287 south to Route 208 south

Take 208 south to Goffle Rd. (Hawthorne/Paterson exit)

Make a right from 208 exit ramp onto Goffle Rd.

Go to first traffic light and make a left onto Lafayette Ave.

Proceed on Lafayette Ave for approximately 1.5 miles to the light at Warburton Street. (The Town Hall will be on your left)

Turn Right onto Warburton Street for about .5 miles

Turn Right onto Parmelee Avenue. The High School is on your right.

From Connecticut

Take Route 95 south to Route 287 west/south

Take Route 287 south to Route 208 south

Take 208 south to Goffle Rd. (Hawthorne/Paterson exit)

Make a right from 208 exit ramp onto Goffle Rd.

Go to first traffic light and make a left onto Lafayette Ave.

Proceed on Lafayette Ave for approximately 1.5 miles to the light at Warburton Street. (The Town Hall will be on your left)

Turn Right onto Warburton Street for about .5 miles

Turn Right onto Parmelee Avenue. The High School is on your right.

Where were you when that discussion was going on?... Chris has Mike by a month.... man its tough getting older... Wish I could do what you young folks do... See you on the 9th or perhaps the 8th at the Christmas parade in Hawthorne... Lloking forward to hearing these arrangements played full out.... Then the corps Party. Then rehearsal again... man who planned this. See you all soon

To the Cabs.........good luck this year and make Carmen Sing !!!! Tough book to do but I expect that from the Cabs. And you dont get old in drum corps, you just get better .

I wish all the Caballeros (old and new) LOL ....a blessed Holiday Season and once again hitting the field in 2007 !!!!!

PS. You guys ever think about having bagpipes for one year ????? I just bought my own and I am ready to play the RUMPS on the pipes !!!! Not sure how the bellbottoms and the kilt will workout but it could look good !!!! :P

Thanks Eddie..... See everybody on the 9th and 10th of December.... Party on Saturday night.... and Parade on Friday night the 8th of December. A weekend in hawthorne in December... How could you find a better way to spend your time.

Still looking for members in all sections Brass, percussion, Guard and Support. Like to help the corps out part time then support is the way to go. We need truck drivers and equipment handlers and of course souvie table and lunch wagon help. Be a part of the 2007 Caballeros... "Come join the Tradition"

THanks Ed, I thought I might be getting old, now I know I am just better. Been a rough start to winter so far for me but I miss my Cabs Family. Carmen will be a great vehicle for the Cabs. Have a great first camp weekend and a geat time at the Christmas Party. Can't wait to see the web pictures of you all cleaned up.
