  1. I thought I had sent a reply. All sheets are left at the sign in table. this is announced several times at each venue. I dont collect them afterwards. judges are instructed to write 4 or 5 comments are their sheet. Sorry but I will try again next year to get contestants some helpful comments. I'll try and get next years info ready early but so far I haven't had a planning scession in MD, so I don't know what changes might have to be made.
  2. Sheets are left on the registration tables for all contestants. This is announced during the contest several times. I'm sorry I don't pick them up afterward. each contestant is judged with two judgess who give one score. They are all instructed to give at least 5 helpful comments. I will demand this again next year.
  3. I want to thank the many who help produce the I&E portion of the DCA Championship. The DCA Board led by Gil Sylva and Tom Peashey is always my backbone. The many people espcially the Hurcs Honor Guard who man each venue, My family for running the tabulation, Both the Radisson and Convention staffs, of course my Peggy who does alittle of everything, you all are un believable. To contestants who can drive me crazy during the registration period, I always forgive and thank you after your performances. The spectators thankyou so much for your response to these performers. To our beloved Donna Ernst, "Mother of the Mini". wow what an idea and what a show. I appreciate the many who give me a pat on the back and ask about my health but for every pat I get there are many who make ME happen and I want you to know they are Drum Corps people who love and advance our little part of the world. Next year new Venue but I promise same callibar show!
  4. My apology to Basement Brass, yes they were registered, but my cut and paste technique wasn't very good. They are a Brass Ensemble and go on at 7:30. Sept 2nd, Main Street Rochester, the place to be!

  9. listing the entries for I&E at this point is very useless. Last year the first week in August I had almost 60, by DCA weekend I had over 150. I never even try and figuree out how many venues I need untill the last week. Thankyou Raddison and Convention center. So if you are planning to enter get you applications in please. I have sent out over 20 mini Corps rules and packets. These were all sent to Corps who wrote me. Most have dropped by the way side, even some of our favorites can't compoete this year. Mini Corps still have time to enter. The I&E will still be a huge event. Sept 2nd, Main Street Rochester, the place to be !!!

  13. The first to enter this years DCA I&E Championships is (Chicks with Sticks) a Freelancer drum quartette. The Fist Mini all completed was the Marksmen followed by the Kilties and Criterions. WHERE IS YOU REGISTRATION!!!!
  14. Bill you mights consider just entering some solo or small group contest at DCA. If you are just getting arrangements it is going to be tough for you to be ready for Championships as a mini Corps.

  15. For the last two years I got to prelims to see everyone. For some reason Saturday at Championship is always hard for me to get up. But I wanted to see the Class "A". The competition was great. All the corps entertained, there is nothing that being Class "A" is embarrassing.
  16. W hen a show is in your area, contact one of the corps and feed them at their rehearsal, it gets a little expensive but you make a life time of friends. I have a group from the old Shortsville Shamrocks and they help me do this once a year we've done it for about 5 years. Feeding a Corps subs, salads or hots and burgers, or sloppy Joes runs about $250. Last year we did the Cabs in Scranton, Sloppy Joes, dogs, salad, it cost about 225.
  17. I was there for many of your Championships if not all. But Bush's greatest performance came in Scranton at a regional show. There was a schuffle to start the show. I didn't see it but Ms Kunnsel said "Dick Go DO Someting." I went out on the field and barked at your drumline, which seemed to be in a frenzi. Found out later it wasn't their fault, but my barking must have done something. WOW WoW what a job that night. You've had a great run job. Bringing your Corps back to be a regular finalist was no small thing. Good luck, looking to shake your hand this summer.
  18. I have been contacted by 24 Mini Corps. By the rules the corps who attended last year will compete. We haven't decided how the new Corps will be added. I have saved the e-mails so I can use first contact, but I know some Corps from new areas are interesting people. The structure of the I&E will change a bit. It will be necessary to begin Mini Corps CHampionships before some events are over. Every thing needs to be wraped up by 11. DCA Chapionships Friday night, Sept 2nd the place to be!!!!
  19. Sometimes there are no words. The hundreds of helping hands Barb gave to all DC people and Corps will never be forgotten. Sending special prayers for you Fran:
  20. I remember Carl well. My prayers are with him.
  21. God Bless Joe. So Sorry for your loss. Dick and Peggy
  22. Back when I was DCA Chief, the DCA had its meetings at the Holiday airport in Newark. The wrestlers flying in an out to NYC stay there too. One Sunday afternoon a group of us that were flying home late Sunday or staying over to Monday gathered in the bar. In marched the Bushwackers tag team. They enjoyed a couple of beers with us, when someone walked in with a Bushwacker t-shirt on. Of course I am talking about the Bushwacker Corps. The tag team now became interested and start asking where the guy got the shirt and their souvies were trade marked. Can't remember who it was but he turnd a bright green.
  23. Vick that is great news for DCAS. Great job of building the area.
