USNA90_Mello
Chops, Inc is proud to present for the 2007 season: "Chops Does Wicked" Musical Selections from Wicked (East Bethel, Minnesota) - After a lengthy show selection process that involved input from the members and design team, we have selected "Wicked." Combining haunting melodic lines and a driving percussion book, which provide a musical foundation for our Guard to perform their hearts out, the music from Wicked is perfect. Wicked, the musical, was adapted from Gregory Maguire's book of the same name, which explored the question of The Wicked Witch of the West. You thought you knew the story, did you. Perhaps it's not as easy as it seems. Not afraid to question the reality of the story, just like Chops is not afraid to question what a small corps can really do. Look for us to incorporate many visual elements indicative of the show and the story into our show. Can you see a green Winnie Copper in a tall black hat and flowing black dress. We Can!!!! What about Glinda, What about the Munchkinlanders. The possibilities are endless. And you can be part of it. For the 2007 season, Chops will be showcasing a new line of King Ultimate Brass instruments. Chops is the first all-age corps to march King horns on the fields and joins the likes of Phantom Regiment, Carolina Crown, Blue Stars, Boston Crusaders, The Magic and Southwind in their adoption of this great line of instruments. Our first camp is January 6/7 in Coon Rapids, MN. We are always intersted in hearing from folks that want to be part of a family, perform their hearts out and give the audience a show they can relate to and enjoy. Are you Chops material? This is a working title. Our actual show title will be picked after we try being Wicked for a while and see how it feels. :P
