John M. Johnson
I am very proud to announce that Amanda Bork has been named the new Assistant Drum Major! Amanda is well suited for the role and looks forward to her new additional responsibilities. Here is a little bit about Amanda: Amanda's marching band experience began at the age of 12, performing in both her junior high parade band and National Class Competitive High School Marching Band. While in college completing a Bachelors Degree in Music Education with a minor in Bass Trombone Performance, she began her career with Drum Corps Associates. Amanda is a proud 4 year veteran and alumnus of DCA Open Class World Champions Syracuse Brigadiers, in which she rose to the ranks of Baritone & Euphonium section leader after only 2 years at the age of 20. Amanda then moved to Florida to complete a masters degree in Music Education, which she then joined the DCA Class A World Champion Heat Wave Drum and Bugle Corps. Her career in Heat Wave includes her service as a marching member, mellophone soloist, Member at Large and current Executive Secretary to the Board of Directors, Horn Line Captain, Equipment Manager and now Assistant Drum Major. Outside of drum corps, Amanda continues her devotion and passion for music education by continuing her career as a band director in the School District of Osceola County
