audiodb
The arrangements, and different approaches to a hornline sound. I might be wrong, but a Bb/F hornline can be just as loud and sound just as glorious as a G hornline. Different sound, yes, but just as loud. They keep saying that even now. How come it only happens about 3% of the time in practice?

I'm also thinking horn construction and tubing diameter specs but have seen arguments both ways. Hey tell ya what. ^0^ I have five different type of Baris in my basement: 3V, 2V and three different 1V (one bass and two tenors of different sizes). After I find a P/R to complete my set of Gs you can bring a Bb horn and a meter to measure volume. Then we'll answer this once and for all. :P Edit: Gotta be an Olds Duratone piston/rotor like I had "back in the day". I know that sucker had an 11 on the volume knob. I think the length of tubing also has something to do with as discussed on another thread. I think it's more than just volume. The G horns have more depth, a richer, fuller symphonic sound that I prefer. I'm ok with Bb but do prefer the sound of the G's.
