I used to love the idea that drum corps was way better than band. In my HS band (the '70's), I would hear, "you think you are better because you are in drum corps". My reply, "well, yeah". (Not being mean, just proving a point.) . Some band people hated us, while some joined us. I loved the persuit of perfection/excellence, hardass attitude (get out of our way), and the comradare of being something special - totally different. OOPs, that's pursuit.
