MarkT-GCS
I play on a 1 1/4 G on the field. Yes - it was a chore to get comfortable with it, but when presented with any other options now, it's just not the same. I tried the 1 1/4 G at Scott's recommendation a couple of years ago. Its a great piece to play on but I upgraded last year to an LM-35 which is just as big and stainless steel. It is possibly the most comfortable piece I have ever played on. I may never use another mouthpiece. I love the deep dark tones you can get with it. Granted it takes a while to build back up to the upper register with a mouthpiece that big but it makes honking on those low notes so much fun. No I think not!! :P three other comments... 1) if Chris B was there, the worms would have been very entertained, 2) Pepe is gonna have the shock of his life when his euph arrives next week... and 3) Rodney needs a bigger chair :sshh:

Browniebrick
Euphs are mainly good for power playing. The larger bore lets you play much louder than a baritone. Euphonium also has a nicer sound, but it doesn't really cut through a line for solos, or exposed parts that need to be noticed. Depends who you have playing Euph (And A Drum Corps Accompaniment).
