  1. Keith, Can you tell us more about "Genesis" D&B ???
  2. Congratulations SKY and best of luck in 2008 !!! Any pictures from the open house ???
  3. Money is meant to be burned isn't it ??? Think BOA - Madison Scouts !!!
  4. This Horse has been beat, buried, and dug up on many an occassion. Remember, it is the journey not the outcome that matters most. Those who travel most seem to enjoy the journey ... eh hum ... least !!!
  5. The Cymbal line is a great part of the Kiltie tradition. Maybe if numbers come in where the Kilties are hoping then additional new/used brass can be added. Any old unused brass instruments could possibly then be recycled into Cymbals ... It is all good !!!
  6. Should I take that as a "YES" ??? Might be better to have a matched set of Brass before worrying about the Cymbal Line.
  7. Just a curious question for the various posters in this thread: What would be the result if Div II/III interspersed their Pre-Lims & Finals competition within the Div I Pre-Lims & Finals competition at the DCI Championships ??? This would allow the Div II/III DCI Drum Corps to play in the bigger venue and not require the renting of an additional stadium that cannot be filled up appropriately (cost based). I realize this would elongate the Pre-Lims & Finals shows, but maybe a slate of the top 12-or so Div II/III DCI Drum Corps could be brought into the mix. I believe this might be better than just putting the Div II/III DCI Drum Corps on in the A.M. on either the same or different days of Championship week. Thoughts ... Anyone ???
  8. Are the Kilties going to complete their Brass Line with all Kanstul brass for 2008 ???
  9. Look at DCM ... When the Div I DCI Drum Corps would no longer participate in the DCM regional shows ... DCM died a slow and horrible death. This unfortunately shows that DCI Div II/III drum corps cannot stand alone on their own merits in the current marketplace. The DCI Div II/III drum corps directors do need to wake up and smell the coffee so to speak. If you do the same thing the same way then you can't expect a different result.
  10. Good luck Pioneer !!! Sounds like great things are happening in Milwaukee.
  11. Are you going to put your resignation in to the T-Birds then ???
  12. You might do well to follow the various posts and see who has been attacking who.
  13. I don't see a organization that you are affiliated with that is currently competing on the field in either DCI or DCA. Are you trying to convince me to be a "Thunderbird" ???
  14. Gary, How is "Lake Erie Regiment" doing ??? Are you successfully working on fielding a drum corps for 2008 ??? A moderately good Business Manager would not let such a wonderful drum corps go without fielding a competitive unit. Careful on accusing individuals of being cowards!!! You have many times pointed out that you have the skill and expertise to run organizations and events/shows but you seem to not be up to the task at present.
  15. No, I am just following his logic based on his twisted interpretation of my previous post. Very similar to your train of thought as well Gary.
  16. Keith, I never alluded to the fact that "Cru Folded". If you want to read my entire post rather than canibalizing my post and even then twist it until you wring out your own personal meaning/bent then that is your veiw. Since you brought it up, what exactly is the "Webster Dictionary" defined difference between "Crusaders took one year off from competing" vs. "XYZ corps folded" ??? Again, I did not use the fold word for CRU. I would bold that point but it would probably still get lost in the translation. Last but not least, do you include 2004 in CRU's 60 years of being a competing corps or it might be more correct to use a literal quote from your prior post stating the following historical quote "The have been in existence for 60 years(?) Of the DCA corps competing". I suspect you meant "They" rather than the "The" shown in your prior post. CRU's 2004 hiatus from competition might very well be a manifestation of your dogmatic inability to look at let alone see the "Big Picture" and twist/distort other DCP posts. 2007 "Is what it is" and "Was what it was".
  17. I hear what you are saying in regards to Gold not being guaranteed of performing at their 2006 level even if they had come out in 2007. Gold may very well not be able to obtain their prior performance level if they come out in 2008 as well. But a point can be made that, rgardless of whether it be Gold or any other prior year DCA finalist drum corps, the disappearance of a quality marching unit does leave a void/opportunity for other DCA drum ccorps. The same argument can be made that the inclusion of drum corps like the Inspires, Etc would probably pose a problem for existing DCA finalist drum corps in any given year. I do wish CRU only the best in 2008 and beyond. The CRU members that I have met in the past seemed very genuine. However, there have been statements stating that CRu is back for good, Cru should have scored higher, Etc ... Maybe CRU is back for good (Whatever that is worth - I.E. how long is for good - forever ???)). Maybe Cru should have scored higher. Only time will tell. Enough said.
  18. Some DCP members have taken this thread a bit too serious. I didn't slap anyone in the face by saying that Gold's folding left a void. However, if certain individuals feel that they have been slapped in the face by the statement then that is their choice. The disappearance of a Top Ten Finalist drum corps left an opportunity for other Finalist results in 2007. Nothing more ... nothing less !!! Twist away !!!
  19. My point about Cru making finals due to Gold folding doesn't mean Cru would not have made finals in 2007. However, it was made to point out the fact that Gold scored a 87.275 in 2006 and would have been a legitimate threat for finals in 2008. CV went up over a point from 2006 to 2007 Pre-Lims. If Gold would have been able to put out a similar product in 2007 rather than folding they might very well have upped the ante and been an 88-Plus DCA Drum Corps at Pre-Lims. If Gold is able to reorganize in 2008 and bring a quality product to the field DCA will only get more diffcult to make Open Class Finals. Cru worked hard for their score in 2007 and deserved their placement. But a void was left when Gold was not in the mix. Keep the great work up and push for even a higher level of performance/excellence in 2008!!!
  20. How many members do you currently have, and how many additional members are you looking to add to the corps ??? B) B)
  21. Exactly what I said in my previous post above in regards to a post referencing MCL's order of appearance at Pre-Lims. You might want to rethink your previous statement: "really do not seem to know what you are talking about." If there is any other part of my post that you don't understand I would be happy to explain it to you. If Carolina Gold does reorganize for the 2008 they will have to raise their performance level in order to make the top ten open class corps in DCA. I still stand by my statement in regards to the DCA Top Ten Open Class Drum Corps all being full "Members" of DCA. Name the last non-member DCA Top Ten Open Class Finalist corps ??? If you actually think through the realities of DCA you might actually realize there is a distinct pecking order when it comes to placement. The other possibility is that no non-member DCA drum corps has achieved the necessary level of quality for years on end to make the Top Ten DCA Finalist ranks. Congratulations to all DCA corps for a fine year ... and best of luck in 2008 !!!
  22. Well, then why did MCL go on before the Kilties. I would be more than happy to be enlightened.
  23. DCA revised the criteria for the order of appearance to be based on prior scores within the current year (I.E. 2007) or a Drum Corps prior year Pre-Lims / Finals placement (I.E. Renegades - 2007 Pre-Lims Order of appearance). Being a DCA member corps no longer gets a drum corps a free pass to cut in line and improve their appearance order placement. That being said, the DCA member corps are given preferential scoring treatment when it comes to Pre-Lims / Finals. MCL will have to do more than hype themselves in 2008 based on the reality that the 2007 Finalist drum corps happened to all be DCA member corps the same as MCL. MCL will have to beat Corps Vets if they want a Finals performance opportunity on Sunday night. DCA as a whole will not throw the North East Drum Corps out due to the voting realities currently in place. If the Kilties are able to become a DCA member corps they might very well be in a position to get a fair score at Pre-Lims. This however would still make it very difficult for the Kilties to make finals (No different than MCL as mentioned previously). IF MCL's score takes a nose dive downward next year at DCA Pre-Lims like happened to the Kilties in 2007 at DCA Pre-Lims then maybe you will experience the "Good Ole Boys Club Scoring" that is alive and well in DCA. The 3-Point separation in score between MCL & CRU is the typical gap that the DCA Judging panel makes for the 10th vs 11th place open class finals drum corps. Take a look at the previous years DCA Pre-Lims results and let me know what you find as far as the roughly 3-point separation. The same old group of DCA drum corps made finals again in 2007 as in 2006 / 2005/ Etc ... Even the scoring was standard as far as the perennial Finalist drum corps are concerned (I.E. CV, Renegades, MBI, Etc ...). the only exceptions to the rule were the Hurcs went up in score from 2007, and CRU made finals due to Carolina Gold going inactive for 2007. I will have to view the various DCA Pre-Lims shows before I venture a guess about the overall perfromance of the Kilties vs any other DCA drum corps.
