Ex VK DM
Well the drum corps season is fast approaching and to help everyone get into the competitive spirit; on May 12th & 13th I will be hosting a DCPI Fantasy League pre-season “show” open to all. Whether you’ve ever participated in a fantasy drum corps league or not, is unimportant. The hope is that you like it, have fun, and choose to join us for the live season 8 of DCPI. The way this will work is simple. There are 16 sub captions in the judging system. GE VIS (Rep & Show) GE MUSIC (Rep & Show) VISUAL PERFORMACE (Tech & Excl) VISUAL ENSEMBLE (Tech & Excl) VISUAL COLORGUARD (Tech & Excl) MUSIC BRASS (Tech & Excl) MUSIC ENSEMBLE (Tech & Excl) MUSIC PERCUSSION (Tech & Excl) You will pick a number from 1-50 for each sub caption. Those numbers correlate to a score. Scores will be posted in caption format. ................................ Effect......Visual............Music ................................ Vis...Mus...Perf..Ens...Clgd..Brss..Ens...Perc..Pen..Score Corps........................... 13.40 13.90 14.30 15.60 13.60 13.70 15.30 13.70 00.0 70.40 This will be a prelims/finals event. Therefore the top 12 corps in each division (or 50% depending on how many entries I get) will move on to finals. You will then have the opportunity to get better by resubmitting your sub captions for captions that you didn’t do too well in. Here is a sample of a scoring grid: 24=9.0...............49=6.5 25=8.9...............50=6.4 26=8.8...............1=6.3 27=8.7...............2=6.2 28=8.6...............3=6.1 29=8.5...............4=6.0 30=8.4...............5=5.9 31=8.3...............6=5.8 32=8.2...............7=5.7 33=8.1...............8=5.6 34=8.0...............9=5.5 35=7.9...............10=5.4 36=7.8...............11=5.3 37=7.7...............12=5.2 38=7.6...............13=5.1 39=7.5...............14=5.0 40=7.4...............15=4.9 41=7.3...............16=4.8 42=7.2...............17=4.7 43=7.1...............18=4.6 44=7.0...............19=4.5 45=6.9...............20=4.4 46=6.8...............21=4.3 47=6.7...............22=4.2 48=6.6...............23=4.1 Each division will have it’s own grid on different scales. As you can see the magic number for this sub caption is "24". Each sub will have a different magic number. Div.1 = 4.1 - 9.0 Div.2 = 2.1 - 7.0 Div.3 = 0.1 - 5.0 Along with this there is a small possibility that you could acquire a penalty if you total points hits one of 4 “non-magic” numbers. (i.e. 16 captions, you select 10 for each, if the “non-magic” number is 160 then you will receive one of 4 possible penalties. (.25, .50, .75, 1 point penalties.) To submit a corps simply send me a PM with this info (copy/paste/edit): Your Name - Corps Name - Corps Location - Division - 16 sub caption numbers (1-50) GE Vis - Rep = GE Vis - Show = GE Mus - Rep = GE Mus - Show = VIS PER - Tech = VIS PER - Excl = VIS ENS - Tech = VIS ENS - Excl = VIS GUARD - Tech = VIS GUARD - Excl = MUS BRASS - Tech = MUS BRASS - Excl = MUS ENS - Tech = MUS ENS - Excl = MUS PERC - Tech = MUS PERC - Excl = **For now I’m going to limit the amount of corps a director can submit to one per division** DON’T PUT IF OFF, DO IT NOW WHILE YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT IT!!
