JimF-LowBari Posted March 29, 2007 Share Posted March 29, 2007 (edited) Otherwise a corps in this situation needs to plan to be exhibition (perhaps request a judged exhibition - no scores announced), or shift gears to be a mini-corps (if they are under 21 members) When Westshoremen were rebuilding in 75/76 we did a lot of judged exhibitions so staff could tell where we needed improvement. Can't totally remember but think some times we paid to be judged. Don't think it was an issue all the time so maybe the extra cost came in when more than 5 corps were competing. Just Another Sop Posted March 29, 2007 Share Posted March 29, 2007 I found out only now that DCA is imposing the 35-member rule on the regions, contrary to initial reports. As a result of that decision, four non-NE corps intent on competing in 2007 have scrapped their plans and declared "minicorps" this month alone. What four corps? Are they all from the same regional circut? If so, with all four no longer allowed to compete, does that kill the regional circut by not having at least 3 corps? Congratulations to those of you who so admirally passed a rule to exclude small corps. This was a fantastic idea that will really help the growth of the all age drum corps activity!
