Way back when, we all had to have a minimum of 7? bobby pins holding our hats to our heads (we pushed them through the hat band.) If anyone lost their hat during a performance and the found hat had less than the required # of hat pins, it was bad news. One guy had a buzz cut and absolutely no hair that would catch a hat pin, so he got a smaller hat, stuck the pins in the hat band, then jammed his hat on his head. So buzz cuts aren't always the answer. If we had hair long enough that it had to be pinned up, we HAD to wear hair nets. Lessons you only had to learn once - don't space the hat pins evenly around the hat band - that bobby pin on the forehead hurts! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
