As much as I love drum corps, there are other great opportunities in life. And for some, those opportunities present more growth and experience than drum corps. No diss on DCI. I love it. :) Congrats, OP. Hope you have a great time with what you are doing! I love being a Camp Counselor. It's a great experience. That he is actually a she. I did other things that were needed at the time to continue my degree. While I would have loved to march last year with the bluecoats for connexus, I think that everything worked out the way it did for a reason.
