Northern Thunder
Bellefontaine had a great show right before US Open every year. Wish I had scores from that year...think it was 1972. Nice stadium too from what I remember. Here they are: August 9, 1972 Bellefontaine, OH Marion Cadets 78.2 Cardinals 69.4 Grenadiers 62.45 Mello-Dears 59.6 Royal Coachmen 49.

Northern Thunder
I don't have anything for Hammondsport in '76. Could it be listed under a different city? The only N. Tonawanda scores I have for that year are: August 16, 1976 N. Tonawanda, NY Royal Coachmen 57.65 Krescendos 57.35 Simplex Minutemen 51.35 Guardsmen-ONT 47.9 84th Bucktail Reg 41.8 Midlanders 38.95 Barons 28.

KeithHall
Holy cow Keith ...you guys won a show!! Actually we won a few that year. We won in Hammondsport and beat Imperial Regiment. We went to London, Ontario and took third or second but I remember we took 2nd in brass to, I think, Flying Dutchmen.
KeithHall
I remember there was a big article in either DCW or DCNews that we won. BTW, Krescendos had beaten us big time earlier in the year. I don't have anything for Hammondsport in '76. Could it be listed under a different city? The only N. Tonawanda scores I have for that year are: August 16, 1976 N. Joe S
I have only 2 memories of the open. 1972, I was 12 years old and my first year with Garfield. We stayed at a school near a Bucyrus (sp) crane factory. We started rehearsal and all of a sudden we started getting attacked by these deer flies. They were a pain. The second was waiting to go on the field . Blessed Sac was on the field playing Bacchus. I really thought the was a cool closer
Northern Thunder
Hey Joe S... I don't know if you knew that while Garfield was on the field for those '72 U.S. Open finals, somebody lit off a cherry bomb under the stands. It was quite a blast! I had a recording of it at one time.
