MsBusDriver
Another fun topic. I didn't march my age-out year... ... But 32 years ago the scores from the last show I marched... DCI Championship Finals Saturday, August 16th, 1975 Philadelphia, PA 1 Madison Scouts 92.500 2 Santa Clara Vanguard 91.000 3 Blue Devils 88.600 4 27th Lancers 88.050 5 Blue Stars 87.500 6 Oakland Crusaders 86.000 7 Kilties 85.300 8 Cavaliers 82.950 9 Royal Crusaders 82.400 10 Phantom Regiment 81.300 11 Garfield Cadets 80.550 12 Troopers 76.200 It was a tough loss because so much was expected from us that year. Still, if we had to lose to someone, I'm glad it was the Madison Scouts, our good friends for many years and a mighty fine Corps with a fantastic "CLASSIC" Show ^OO^ . Northern Thunder
Hey Maggie! I went hoarse cheering for SCV at Whitewater in '75! Didn't get my voice back for three days. At least you beat MS at prelims in Whitewater that year. I'll never forget how happy the SCV people were when I ran into them at a local grocery store after prelims that day. I don't think it was in the cards for anybody to beat MS that year. I don't think the judging community had yet grasped the idea of sheer volume in a junior corps as yet in '75. Up to that point senior corps put out a stronger sound than any junior did. MS was overwhelming, and the judges rewarded it, instead of the overall brilliance of SCV.
