Piper
Has anyone out there ever been able to tell which one of their sticks belongs in the left hand verus the right hand just by picking them up and feeling the difference in weight? It's only a fraction of an ounce, but somehow it seemed like I could always tell. Just wondering.
drumnman2004
Actually, both sticks should be evenly weighted and pitched ! The best (and most consistent) company for matched wood is ProMark...YES, PROMARK !!

S. Pearson
???? is the heavier one supposed to go in left or what?? (playing traditional style) I guess that would depend if you tape em' up differently...
Slow Adam
I know what you mean. If you play enough with one pair of sticks the right hand stick inevitably becomes a little lighter than the left hand stick due to rimshots.

My right stick tends to be lighter because it is played with a bit more harder than my left hand....yes....due to rim shots. good point. I never tape my sticks...i use vics and i hate all the extra junky weight on the sticks when you put tape on them. anyways...back to the topic.. I would use an electric scale ( the ones that go to the like 100th place :P ) and do that. most high schools should have one somewhere in there athletic department... Slow Adam
Heh, to each their own. I prefer sticks after being taped because they are heavier.
Kyle
Off-topic: I prefer heavy sticks... I was blessed/cursed with strong arms and hands, so light sticks feel like they're going to fly away. Tape them up good. On-topic: They should be pitch-perfect; neither stick should be heavier than the other.
