glory
I had a sense of this last summer, but only today went back to check which corps really worked hardest for the fans and which didn't. What I mean is, which corps actually scheduled to perform for us in competitions the most. Turns out BD played the fewest shows of the top 12 while BAC played the most. The three corps at the most DCI shows in 2009 were, in order: BAC, Blue Stars, Cadets. The three corps at the fewest DCI shows in 2009 were, in order: BD, Cavies and Blue Knights. What does it mean? To me, the top three get the award for working hardest for the fans. As for the bottom three, it's an open question whether the extra rehearsal (and maybe floor) time provides a competitive edge. Two of the bottom three are from the West. Does the extra travel distance rate a handicap in this category? On the other hand. BAC with camps in Florida home shows in Boston isn't exactly in a geographic sweet spot. What do y'all make of any this? Here the full results for the top 12. (Data from www.corpsreps.com, reflecting all scheduled shows, even those rained out. Apologies in advance for any clerical errors by yours truly. Apologies too for not being able to set this up as a smart-looking table. I am an html moron.) Blue Devils - 27 Carolina Crown - 30 Cadets - 32 Cavaliers - 28 SCV -30 Bluecoats -30 Boston Crusaders -35 Blue Stars -34 Phantom Regiment -30 Blue Knights - 28 Troopers - 30 HH Edited October 19, 2009 by glory

If you went back a few years to show a trend, you may have something there
contrajedi8
So, in conclusion: This proves absolutely nothing.

Iplaytimpani
Glassmen? Not sure what it proves yet, but I figured you should add them into your top 12 from last year.
glory
So, in conclusion: This proves absolutely nothing. Proves? I don't think that's the standard, the requirement or anything else to warrant an effort to stymie any further thought. This is DCP, not CSI. We discuss here. I meant to count to be sure I'd captured all 12. As I said, clerical error. Glassmen - 29 HH

dckid80
Statistically there is nothing of consequence in these numbers.
JOHNNY_A
If B.D. were from Buffalo I am sure they would have been in a few more shows.
