Troopers 2017 Visual Staff Announced!

Recommended Posts

Seemingly large staff includes guard folk, dance choreography instructors and other specialists..

General impression sees a lot of potential and experience but also folks coming from a variety of marching styles (no less than 6 DCI drum corps where staff marched.)

I imagine there will be a staff camp or two where agreement will be reached about how The Troopers do it this year. Pat Miller usually knows what he is doing. All the best to them.

PS. Hey computer and web geeks about those bios..

Reading white against a black background ain't easy for old eyes. I thought you would have learned from Cadets show this summer...it doesn't work.

Troopers just announced their entire 2017 visual team! Thoughts? http://troopersdrumcorps.org/news

I think rehearsals are going to be very crowded if the guard and percussion staff have 20 each as well. Lots of good names on there though.

They're already gonna need another staff bus and they haven't filled out the guard staff. :silly:

You and Tesmusic need to read the bios of the viz staff mentioned above. After caption heads many have deep guard credentials. I'm sure these will be used.

For the staff, Fred may be reviving those wild horses from a few seasons back to give them a true feeling of the Trooper experience as the staff "gallup' along side the buses.. To quote you, :silly:

Bios don't necessarily indicate role and usage on the 2017 Troopers staff.

Last corps I taught I was on brass staff, but my bio talks about arranging, WGI affiliations, and percussion design, but they used me solely in brass instruction, but thanks for assuming I don't know or didn't read the bios.

As usual, your need to let us all know how much you know about every single aspect of every single corps is appreciated.

Just as a point of comparison, and it may indeed be apple and oranges.

2016 Bluecoats percussion instructors (total of 8)

2017 Troopers percussion techs (total of 15)

2016 Bluecoats visual instructors (total of 12)

2017 Troopers visual techs (total of 19)

What do you think?

edit: mis-counted troopers visual techs. I'm getting old.
