Dylan Ford Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 (edited) To be honest, I haven't been exposed to the Blue Knights very much this season at all simply because I haven't been to any shows yet. But from what you've seen/heard thus far, how do you think they are doing? Any information on their show? From the looks of the scores it seems like they may be having a rough year, but that may be because of the judging, and they may pull ahead once the full panel comes up. Your thoughts? If most people stayed with their first impression, I would say this isn't their best year, but since it is a "long season", I think it will do alright and may even place them back in their "slot". I saw them Tuesday night and found the show to be distorted just for the sake of being distorted. It might grow on me with a few more viewings but at this point I'm not sure I want a few more viewings. It struck me as a TV show that you've made yourself keep watching to see how it ends and then they pop the 'to be continued.......' message up on the screen. You scratch your head and wonder why you spent the time watching in the first place. The show did not stand out as being as impressive as last year's show (which in fairness I didn't see until Murfreesboro......three weeks further into the season) and the corps may struggle to finish as high in the standings this year. I would imagine that they will find themselves something like one of five corps fighting for just three remaining finals spots this season.......but then that's usually where the Blue Knights are, no?. I think the design team missed the mark in connecting with the audience and producing an exciting product. The design is kind of "all over the place" with no rhyme or reason to the flow. Of course, I hope this changes when I see them in person. They have always been one of my favorite corps. Quote

There are only 20 corps in the division though and the spread from 1st through 17th at the moment is only about 13 points. So to say they are having a "rough" year os a bit unfair. I would say that they are in the lower half which does not include Pioneer, of which just about any of tem can make Finals! Quote

I'm surprised they're still ahead of Blue Stars. Quote

I have always liked the Blue Knights and Mark Arnold is a gem but last evening after seen the guard my thoughts were, "Mark! How could you let your staff pick that guard uniform? It is not good. Put a guard uniform on those kids that is flattering!" I hope they change out the uniform. There are definitely some potential designs that could be white ( I think white should be the color given the colorful flags). Quote
