Michael Boo Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 Don Warren turns 80 today. He's the only President the corps has ever had. He founded the corps as a 19-year-old scoutmaster. (And what were the rest of us doing at that age? :) ) He is retiring as President after 60 years. With Jim Jones of the Troopers, he co-created the idea for DCI and saw it to fruition. If you haven't bought his book, "Building the Green Machine," you might want to check it out here. Happy birthday, Don! Quote

Matt_S Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 shouldn't that be "founder and still president" Quote
Michael Boo Posted August 19, 2008 Author Posted August 19, 2008 shouldn't that be "founder and still president" No. It's a Cavalier thing. He's always been the President and still Founder. Quote
vferrera Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 No. It's a Cavalier thing. He's always been the President and still Founder. and it's a good thing he found that still. otherwise, he might not have lasted 60 years. Quote
esch Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Mr. Warren has always been one of my heroes and one of the greatest things about his corps through the years is his continued influence. The Troopers were always a reflection of the vision of Mr. Jones, as was the Vanguard and Gail Royer. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And thanks...... Quote
