drumcorpbc Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Richard Saucedo Steps Down As Cavaliers Brass Arranger/Composer Richard Saucedo has stepped down as the brass arranger for The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Richard has been an integral part of the design team for many years, and we wish to thank him for his dedication, as well as his amazing compositions. His contributions have helped to establish the Cavalier sound of this decade. Richard stated, "I have resigned my position as brass arranger so that I can spend more time with my family. This will also allow me to focus more on my teaching responsibilities at Carmel High School, as well as my concert band and orchestral writing projects." He also stated "There is not a better organization for young musicians and performers anywhere on the planet!" Richard has been with The Cavaliers since the year 2000 as brass arranger and composer. We wish Richard nothing but continued success in all of his future endeavors. What is going one with all the people leaving. Quote

Phillygwm Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 What is going one with all the people leaving. I was thinking the same thing. There seem to be a lot more high profile departures this year than I seem to remember in the past. I heard a rumor that there's a billionaire funding a new corps out of Bloomington and hiring the best staff available. Quote
mellodramatic Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 wow almost as wow as the Fiedler bomb last year Quote
BariEuph Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 What is going one with all the people leaving. i 90% expected to open this thread and see a big "GOTCHA!" Quote
pitboy06 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 wow. Although I think it's time Cavies got a fresh perspective on brass arrangements, best of luck to Saucedo..he's created some of my favorite moments. Quote

mobrien Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 A nine-season run for anyone seems about enough. He gets time to breathe, Cavaliers get a chance to add a major new voice to the creative staff - win/win for all involved. He goes out on a high note to boot, as "Samurai" will stand with the best work he did with the corps over the years. Best of luck to him, and looking forward to seeing where Green goes from here. hrnguy500 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I heard all of the recent staff "exitees" are coming together to start up The Railmen again .....one can dream..... (Shane Macklin teaches in my hometown) Quote
cmathis Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I hope Saucedo doesn't take Key Poulan's place at SCV. Quote
