  1. On July 9th, Crossmen had a score of 73.60 which ranked them to be in 17th place by July 14th. They did not have another show until July 15th and their score was 74.825 which then ranked them 14th.
  2. I guess that the judges noticed and liked the Red Sequins on their uniforms. Whatever works, as long as they continue to improve and get higher scores. Can't wait till DCI East!!! :)
  3. YEA Crossmen!!! that was pretty darn close to a half a point. They have jumped from 17th to 13th in one week. Let's keep the momentum going. Can't wait to see you guys again in August in Pa. Have a safe and uneventful rest of the season. See ya soon. :)
  4. Just to let ya know, the Crossmen's first show was only on June 26th. Probably 2 weeks after most other corps. And also, the show in Lincoln was cancelled due to rain. They probably have only had ten shows this season. I am looking forward for them to move up soon!
  5. I am sooo glad they had a great show and I hope they receive a great score also!!! I just checked the DCI Website and still no scores for Denver. Everyone here is sitting on pins and needles waiting for some good news. I can't wait to see them in Bensalem and DCI EAST in August. I will also be cheering them on at the Movie Theatre for quarterfinals in King of Prussia, Pa.
  6. Maybe next year John M. could get YEA into the Towson Stadium. The stadium at Westminster was not high enough and also with a family of 5, we ended up only purchasing the General Addmision for a total of $75.00 and sat on the 25 yardline.
  7. You should forward this info on to George Hopkins and/or to YEA.org. I agree the stadium was to low. I am really bumbed out about DCI East in Allentown this year, because the area we sat in for the past 20 some years are condemned and I ended up getting seats (from DCI) in row 5, and not my choice. I am not real happy about that since I purchased my tickets in November 2005.
  8. So you didn't see Crossmen perform their last show of the 2005 season??? What about quarter finals??? I hope you got to see them at that show. I, unfortunately only saw them at Semi finals in Boston, because I could not afford to go to all three show last year and also we did not arrive at our hotel until 10:00 pm. I was Sad to see that they did not make finals last year. :(
  9. There is nothing cheesy about God or Patriotism in my book. I guess some people need to be reminded that our ancestores came over to America so that they could practice religion without being persecuted. I think the Cadets spoke these words "One Nation Under God" because of some of the political problems with having the Ten Commandments in a public building and parents complaining that we should Not have our children saying "The Pledge of Allegance" in school because it has God in it. Also, I think Drum and Bugle Corps were started as VFW's and American Legions marching in Parades and playing Patriotic songs and to Honor the Veterens. God Bless America and Drum Corp.
  10. :devin:  I agree!!! Cadets had a great show that year Especially the "One Nation Under GOD". We should always remember this and be proud to be American. I was sorry that I missed Finals that year.
  11. I also hated retreat as a performer, mostly because we were so tired by this time of the day and our feet were burning from the pain of standing on the field for so long. :( On the other hand I really do enjoy watching full retreat but I usually only go to DCI East and sometimes Final. So maybe for the performers, they would enjoy to have Drum Major retreat (only) occasionally especially during some of the smaller shows during the week. It is sad that there were corps that did not get to perform in a retreat ceremony at all last year for some reason or another. I hope that this poll somehow gets back to DCI and the Board of Directors to let them know how the Drum Corp fans feel about eliminating retreat.
  12. Ok, I will go with every corp up until 9th place - Boston. I seriously hope you are kidding about Magic coming in 12th over Spirit and Crossmen. Be for real!!!
  13. <**> Oh PLEASE tell me you're joking!!! Although, if George can persuade the other 11 Directors (or more) then it will be inevitable. Just hope not in my lifetime. <**>
  14. Dan, Are you in this picture?? And were you in the drum line or the hornline??? I marched in the Crossmen guard 1975-1977 and 1979-1982.
  15. Unfortunately Crossmen did not get voted in last year so we here at the Crossmen Alumni Association would therefore like to officially lobby for as many votes as possible for the "1997" Corp. Remember, the best chance to see the Crossmen on the Big Screen is to vote for only ONE Year for the Crossmen. If you think 1992 is a better choice (which I do) or 1982, or 2001, you can rest assured that we will lobby hard for those shows when the next DCI Classic Countdown comes around. For now though, we ask that you only vote for ONE Crossmen show -- 1997. Thank You, and here's hoping we see Birdland on the Big Screen in April! :)
  16. No one has picked a year for The Crossmen! I did check the Voting Page and they do have 2005 listed. I also checked for the 1975 Muchacho's but they are Not listed.
  17. It took a little bit of time, but I finally got on just in time to listen to 1988 Skyriders. I think I attended this show in Kansas City??? :)
  18. I think I was at this same Restaurant near the Stadium. No I marched 1975-1977 & 1979 - 1982. I am listening to Drum Corp Radio as I write this entry. WWW.live365.com
  19. Malibu, Please show more pictures of Crossmen!!! And where was that picture of you and lancerfi taken and what year??? Crossmen82
  20. What the **** do you mean by that?? If you are referring to making finals you are a low life!!! Whatever corp she evetually becomes a member of, it should not only be about winning. Sure this is the goal, but you should love the corp and the members since they will be your family for the entire year and forever. I hope that you have fun and be the best that you can be, and if this means that your corp wins, then this will be the icing on the cake. Best of luck at your auditions where ever you chose to go, and enjoy Drum Corp now because DCI says only to 21 (or 22) depending on the month of your Birthday.
  21. I think pretty much everyone in Crossmen were local from 1975-1978. I think the first out of state members showed up in 1979. Some from as far as Canada, California, Mississippi and Oklahoma. I am not sure what the makeup of the Crossmen is now. I was always amazed that some of the members came from England, Japan and Holland in the 90's. They were/are very lucky people to be able to march in a DCI Corp and it probably makes drum corp much more fun to be in.
  22. I heard this really does happen. Someone who is trying out for both or just Crossmen and they tell this person that they have earned a spot in the Cadets. There are alot of rumors and I think Hopkins should clear this up once and for all.
