RE: 1980 Photo,Birmingham... It NEVER TURNED OUT !! (All "WE" had back then were to LITTLE CRAPPY "INSTA-MATIC THANGS"...) It was done MORE for the "EFFECT"... However,I did manage to "BLIND" Phantom's Drum Major,(BRAD GRUBB) ,as they were coming on the field... "D.M.DANIEL"

My "Heartfelt Respects" to the whole TROOPERS FAMILY ! MR. DePalmereares was a BIG influence on mt "early Drum Corps Years" ! Not since I got to know "John Matterson" (or as I used to call him "Bat Masterson") in '80...had another "Trooper" made me realize what Drum Corps REALLY meant !! We can only remember that he had a GREAT impact on SO MANY "Future Members" (no matter what Corps they were with...)...and that is the "Legacy" that will always follow his name !! It's always SAD to hear of "the Passing" of a Brother ! (If anyone is going to be in attendance,please give my BEST to his family,and remind them how much that he was "respected"!! ) ALWAYS... D.M. SORRY if this is "OFF TOPIC" again... I just wanted to take this chance to pass along my BEST WISHES to the whole DRUM CORPS FAMILY. Personally...THANK YOU for your Prayers,Support,and LOVE over the years ! In the coming year I hope we get to see some "NEW Direction" in our Sport.We here in Madison are really looking forward to sharing our "Heritage" with the World ! ( sometimes we may forget that there a LOT of poeple involved,today....not may never have had a "TASTE" of their "ROOTS !) I hope to have the chance to meet MANY of you,over the season...I will always have the time for a NEW Brother,or Sister... (and LONG LOST Friends TOO !) Be KIND to one another ! I was 11 - in '71 when I Joined The 32nd Hussars 9from Madison) 13 - in '73 when I loined The Scouts I "Aged-out in '80 (in '74 Madison stayed with the Rochester 'Cru Members...then after DCI,a bunch of us were going to stay out East,and march with them at DCA... but we all had to get back for School. HEY BROTHERS ; I've been meaning to write in,but haven't found the time..(Lots going on at the Hospital,and with the "Hol-I-Daze"...well you know !) Sorry I didn't make it to the "Gathering" before Christmas ! I'll have to wait and see everyone at "Camp". I got my "Alumni Activation" yesterday... THANK YOU to my good friend,and OUR BROTHER "KARL WEEKES" ! I can't wait until we're all togerther,as a FAMILY again ! The 2006 "theme" of "PRIMAL FORCES" should go hand in hand with our performance in August ! (I think that we could make a lot of $$,if we sold "Depends",or "Adult Pampers" at the Gate...with a warning that "we recomend their use" during the show...I've also recently come accross an "Old Thread" concerning "Throwing Babies"...I hope that we're not the Cause of TOO MUCH Destruction !!!) Hey Guys; I spoke with Mark last night...We both laughed about all the different "Side Effects" from all the Drugs...(The GOOD,The BAD,and The UGLY...)He seemed to be in Good Spirits,knowing how much he is Loved,and all the Support he has in his corner ! (Something like that can make ALL the difference in the World !) I told him that if any of his Friends want to get in touch with me,we'll try to make plans to meet in MADISON,in August. It would be my "Honour" to get to meet him... I also reminded him that ONE thing "Drum Corps" has taught us ALLL...is how to deal with some of the HARDEST Times that we've had in our lives...and HOW to get through them... (For what is a Man,without his Brothers around him in a time of NEED ??) That's what "ESPRI d' CORPS" is all about ! KEEP THE FAITH !!!! DANIEL

SCOTT; MY Little "I-MAC" is "Crapping-Out"...I'm going to caal Mark,when my "Long Distance Plan" kicks in....I hope that it's not TOO late ! (I'm on Cennral Time). I remember that last May,when I was in the Hospital...I was on "Another Planet" !! Some of the Drugs were GREAT !! ( just like the "OLDE DAZE) Some were H*LL !!! (I've also put Mark on "The Prayer List" at my Church... So there's even MORE "Power" headed his way...)

AMEN !!!!! BROTHER!!!!!!

MR.KELLY is on the TOP of my PRAYER LIST !! (and I call him"MR. Kelly",because Ive never met him,He's my senior,and That's due for RESPECT ! From FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE, I can tell you how IMPORTANT all the "PRAYERS, and GOOD THOUGHTS are... They can REALLY be felt,by someone who is "out of commission"... (I know because that's what got ME out of the Hospital,when I was Not supposed to make it out...) KEEP UP your PRAYERS,and Vigils,Folks ! IT REALLY HELPS !!! I will ALWAYS have the time to PRAY for a BROTHER !!! "GODS SPEED" !!! D

SORRY GUYS:I didn't know where to "Post" any Personal notes to keep in touch with the BROTHERS and SISTERS that have been SO IMPORTANT in my LIFE. I know that there have been some "RULE CHANGES" since I was Last here...(I still consider myself a "ROOKIE" at this...So maybe some "GUIDELINES" could be posted some where...So we're ALL on the "SAME PAGE"... (P.S.) SORRY !!! For being the cause of last nights "CAT FIGHT"...(but it's nice to know that we all STILL have the "SPUNK" to raise the hair on the back of our necks !! REE-OOOW) As a CHEF... You know you REALLY have Drum Corps in your Blood when... You nave a Stroke in May and they don't think thst you'll make it out of the Hospital Alive... You get bounced around between several Nursing Homes until the end of June... Then they tell you that they're NOT going to let you out to go to "Drums on Parade"... You "Break-out anyway to go to the Show...and THE SCOUTS get "Rained OUT ! MAN !! That's why I moved back to MADISON !! But I got to meet some of my "Little BROTHERS" before the Show. And many friends that I hadn't seen for a LONG Time ! Plus the BROTHERS that I got to see at the Reunion afterwards...So I wasn't too depressed. ALL I got to see was the "CRAPPY Tele-cast" of 1/4 Finals at the Theatre in Appleton... But"Bet your Bottom Dollar"that I'll be at "CAMP RANDALL" come AUGUST !!! If nothing else other than to see "THE MIGHTY MEN of MADISON play at HOME !!! (LOOK MA- NO COMMA"S !!! SORRY I'll let it DIE !! NO HARD FEELINGS ?!?) ALWAYS your BROTHER DANIEL
