From the first post on this, I thought it was just the announcement of the DVD. But after looking at it, it's downloadable immediately. It's 40 min. of the 90 min. DVD. I did it and it was really excellent. I am crazy about these tour DVDs. It also has the whole show. I can't believe that. Have any other corps had downloads on their DVDs before? I think it is a really good idea. Debbie

I would love to hear your booming voice Ryan. I think when the time comes you should go for it! (Are you coming over to Englewood on Sat?) Debbie

Dare I say a little parity? Do you think the ability of the corps to have a more even practice schedule had anything to do with the multiple placement movements on Finals night? I have just wondered since that night. Debbie

Good poll. So many times when I read discussions similar to this, I am always thinking, not only do Coats have to win, but someone has to lose......and which one is going to step up to that plate. Cavies, BD, Phantom? And when I think of it in those terms, after the history of the last 35 years, it almost seems impossible. But I know it will happen and why not Coats? Does anyone else think like that? Debbie

Blackstar commented on the hi-waisted. I was wondering why all the uniforms are the high waisted now. I realize they look fantastic, but do you think there will come come a day when the diversity of cut will ever re-appear? Or, since this cut looks so good on everyone, has this become the standard? And if this has become the standard, what else could be done besides color and embellishment? I like the uniform. Are you working on any T-shirts? Debbie

How aaaarrrreee yaaaaa Andrew?! (mimicing Melissa.) Don't give up on getting in touch with him Wes. Next year is his age out year. I believe it is number 5. He is a wonderful and delightful person. I had the honor of housing him this year. Got a hug and a smile every day. And I'm sorry I never PMed you back. But I did know about it as did Mark. I was gone for almost 2 weeks before leaving for Finals. I didn't have access to a computer until I got back and by then it was a moot point. What a great week Finals was. Lake Mills is such a nice place to practice. We were all so proud as I can tell you are. Have a good weekend. Debbie

Pacific Crest Uniform Concept
Debbie replied to Keith Laubhan's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
I very much like the uniform and think I get the concept you were going for. I am having a hard time between 1 and 3......maybe leaning towards 3. But I do like the 3rd color in 1. I too would like to know why you picked Pacific Crest. And why a uniform instead of a oh, say, T-shirt like the one you made for the BK tour shirt? This could be a "calling for you!!!" Debbie -
I went for B. I thought the corps were particularly good this year. It was in Madison......and who would not be happy with all the surprise movement in placement Finals night. It felt like a competition! Debbie

Just wondering if anyone noticed the new feature on BK site under SCORES. It has a variety of interesting info all in one place about any corps. Go to the bottom and select corps and season and interesting stats come up. I was trying to think of any I would like to see added. Debbie

I looked at it. I wasn't going to open it.....I swear......but......#%*&........and now again I feel foolish. Debbie

Current Division I rankings: July 2-8
Debbie replied to Matt_S's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
DATR is not a DCI operated regional show. However, we do always have our own shirts and patches. Debbie, BK Boosters -
I can't imagine how much all those extras mean to those kids. And as an adult, I really enjoy listening and watching them. I wish they were there for 7 - 12.

I was just wondering why the Spokane scores haven't been updated on the Scores/Stats page? Thank you, Debbie

Why do us old folks miss the Velvet Knights?
Debbie replied to BD3BK2R2's topic in Historical Junior Corps Discussions
Irreverence. I miss the irreverence. I was more irreverent in my youth and I appreciated seeing it in a corps. They were not irreverent to themselves, the activity, or fans. Only to the judges. And who didn't like seeing that if you were under 40 at the time. I also miss both VK and Bridgemen. Besided that, they were just fun. And they did it with style. There is so much room in this activity for so many styles, it is unfortunate no one has picked up their banner in D1. Debbie -
Thank you very much for that piece of information and I bookmarked the site. It is certainly much better than what I have been doing with my old stat sheet and pen. I knew there were very smart drum corps people out there. It is very hard not to want everything instantly now. This is such an exciting year. Thank you again. Deb

How long does it take for the scores to change on the "Scores/Stats" page? And, can I set my "Scores/Stats" page to remain on unweighted? Also, I am waiting for the Salem scores, with only 5 corps I am hoping they come in before I go home a 10pm MT. I will be cutting it close and it is probably unlikely. Deb

Bawker.....I adore the CE discussions. Makes me laugh out loud.....a lot. My kind of humor. Deb

If I wait long enough, my questions are usually answered. If I have a comment, it has usually be made by someone else. I don't have the energy to argue (I'm and old lady.) And for 3 years it has been delightful to get to know all of you secretly. Your marriages, babies, accomplishments, your corps, political views, etc. You are all really a family. It think it is great. Debbie

WOW, I guess I have made 20!!!!! A milestone in the life of a lurker. Deb
-
I have always wondered this....and it is off topic. I lurked for 2 years before I got a log in. Since I got my log in, I bet I haven't made 20 comments. What do think about lurkers? Trolls vs. lurkers. Lurkers vs. Trolls? Debbie

I can't correct you because I can't remember. Wasn't that Fear and Trembling? Barber and Shostokovich (sp). If there is music from the closer that year of Barber's, I didn't remember it. Sorry. Deb

I am never good a predicting so I won't. However, I was at their final run through on the June 17th, the day before they left town. I am also not good at reviews or descriptions but I am willing to embarress myself among other DCP'ers Though the music is unfamilar, I liked it. There were a group of high schoolers sitting around watching and as we left the stadium, I noticed one of them whistling part of the show. I thought that was interesting. Visually I probably like this show better than I have in quite a few years though of course it was dirty. Again, there is a lot of horn as visual interaction. I liked that. There were also some good block moves, but I would like to see more. Maybe they will add some. There is a marimba solo that was awesome. And by marimba solo, I mean only one kid playing. It was spell-binding and I thought very different. I loved it but I don't know if everyone will. Again the music was really good for this time of year. It was not hesitant and it was powerful and confident. There were quite a few striking visual moves, but they could use maybe a few more. I can't wait to see them at Drums Along the Rockies. Debbie
