I only said the big house for its size. I've actually never been in it. So, nope not a crazy UM fan. And I wouldnt have much issue with MSU. Theres definately enough big schools in the area to house corps. And I also have not been in Ford Field yet, but I cant imagine it would sound any better then any other dome like area. Lets just put it in the silverdome, the acoustics in there are amazing. HA!

What about Michigan? Sure, like most, I'm biased, but it could work. Its the one time of the year the weather is pretty nice. And if they could get the big house in Ann Arbor, I think it could be amazing. Could set some attendance records maybe too! ####, if they'll let us have the superbowl, why not a DCI finals?

I dont know about you all, but one of our favorites is Kiwanis Kavaliers Taco Salad. I'd put that up against almost anybody. Is there anyone from magic 2003 around (preferably with a GOOD sense of humor!!!)? They ate off everyones truck for a few weeks there, they can probably sort this out! :P :P

I can only speak as a pit member of the corps I march with, but It didnt seem to save us any time. Even if we came back and decided to only leave a marimba down because someone had to work on something or whatever the case was, it really didnt save any time. In the end, we seemed to always be traveling through the night, waking up early in the morning, and doing our best to make the show better. And really, that's drum corps. If DCI or the directors really thinks that 20 cumalitive minutes helps, they're wrong. I personally don't even really care about retreat as a member of the pit, and some years I even hated it because I would have to do honor guard, but I think its wrong to not do it.

As was already mentioned a lot of people from georgia go to area corps. Kiwanis Kavaliers Div. 1 corps is still looking for hornline members as well as I'm sure many div 2/3's around. You should look into that if you really want to march! good luck!

I'm fairly certain they didnt have their hats the past 2 years. But am I totally crazy in a memory of the pit wearing hats, but pushing them onto their backs so the cords were around their neck during shows?

KK 2003, the Beatles Show, you can hear one of the bass drummers scream "Who likes the cheese?", right at the beginning of Octopuses Garden. Always made me laugh.

Kiwanis Kavaliers new website is now online. I know there is still many things to be done in the next few days, but it's up! I think it looks really good and its just another example of things changing for the better for KK! Oh yeah, theres a show announcement on the new page as well.

I guess we'll all just kinda find out together in a few hours! I'm excited to see the new website though!

Drop the LER guy, ya'll. I admitted it was wrong of me to call it out in the first place. You know the kid has the heart and dedication, if for not other reason than, he's there. He would have just completed his 4th year of corps and I'm pretty sure still going. Has the heart. So let it go.

It seems to me that no matter what you think of the show idea or music or whatever, it's doing exactly what it's designed for. It's catching peoples attention. The minute you hear someones trying to do a south park show, the first thought is always "Are you serious?". I'm still not sure if the show will work, just the same at this point you never know if anyones show will really work. It all kinda seems the same in words. But no matter what, at this point the show is doing its job. Its catching peoples attention and if even 1 kid joins because they want do that show, my guess is that its a mission accomplished. I hope I get to check the show out sometime, should be interesting. Good luck D/B from at least one timpanist from another Canadian Rooted corps.

I was just about to jump in and correct Alex with the KK 2003 show comment. To have the whole stands in Tiger Stadium on their feet and hear the announcer, and still have the closer to play. Best feeling I have ever felt. That was just one of those shows. Thanks for bringing it up Alex!

I would probably kill to have played in phantom 2003. To hear that recap and know I was a part of it, man. I'd have retired from corps at that point I think.

I know that sometimes it is hard to pull off, but often corps are at least willing to pull together and hang out with one another. in 2003 at Lincoln Way ( I'm pretty sure that's in Illinois) both the cavaliers and the kavaliers held a snack/dinner for Magic and Lake Erie who were having food truck issues at the time. It was a great time to meet a lot of new people and enjoy A LOT of good food. I feel like I may be missing a few corps who participated in the event, so if anyone remembers more, please feel free to add. Its true, sometimes we do get so competitive and forget that theres people going through exactly what we are. I often make a few friends from different pits, but never get the chance to relax with a whole other corps. It would be a great thing to organize.

I didnt mean it to flame or even call out that single individual. I do know the kid, and he's a great person and a good player. It's fantastic that DCI has that publicity going for it. And it's great that all these people from DCI could meet up and do this for the activity as a whole. And now knowing what I know about that being the friday run thru, that changes the perspective a bit. I'm just curious I guess if DCI could have found any different footage? Or what exactly will be airing on television. I admit it was wrong to call it an individual. So I do apologize for that.

I didnt mean my comments as a negative thing. I was just a little shocked to see some of the things I saw and heard. And you're right, it is easy to talk about something I didnt do. But when they're ready to add a pit on the back of a trailer to go with the corps, I'm in! :P

I was at Semi's in 2001 when they were testing out the judgecam. During the cadets performace was one of the first times that night I remember them showing the camera on the big screen. And they put it up on the board just in time for the cadet snare line to finish playing something, then flip off the judge. I remember hearing rumors they were ###### about a drum score from quarters or something to that extent.

Dont wanna cause too many issues, but when I saw that Lake Erie was sending a tenor player that I had marched with years ago, I was a little skeptical. Than to watch him walking down main street checkin out the dude next to him's hands...

Does any remember somewhere in Mississippi in 2003? I want to say it was pascagoula. Kiwanis was the only corps to compete before a tornado warning wiped out the whole show. We came off the field and with green skys everywhere were told to pack the truck as quickly as possible. What a mess.
