  1. I know you used to put together the recaps into a cool, color-coded spreadsheet and then post them. Are you still doing that? I thought that was really cool.
  2. Sorry, I can't help you with the cake situation, but I did stand directly in front of your daughter during rehearsal yesterday. It was almost surreal, since I was thinking to myself, "I kind of 'know' your mom through DCP," but she of course wouldn't know me from a bag of cymbals.
  3. No, for that see: Electronics, Rule Approval
  4. [OT] [personal bias] Fixed that for you! [/personal bias] [/OT]
  5. New recaps this morning corrected the "tie" in WDM last night.
  6. This. I really liked having the encore before the scores. Especially since the encore participant is predetermined and we don't have to wait to find out who won for them to get ready. I was Twittering from the show last night, and I decided not to bother posting any scores, since I knew they'd be out there before they were announced in the stadium. Sure enough, when I went and looked at the DCP show thread, there they were.
  7. Okay, Jim, I'll go all the way, just for you... "I liked Spirit's colorguard, too!" edit: Added the "I'm not a jerk" emoticon.
  8. I thought Spirit's percussion was very solid, too.
  9. That doesn't really surprise me. PR's GE Visual is lacking right now, IMO; although BS has some issues to work through with their pantheon of tables on the field. I'm very curious to see how the GE Vis numbers shake out after tomorrow night, when PR sees Cavies and Crown. What does surprise me is how BOTH music judges - Ensemble and Percussion - wrote down a tie between Madison and Spirit. Seriously, there's only 5 WC corps here...make a call.
  10. Well, guess I missed in Spirit/Madison, huh? Good night, all!
  11. Hi all. Intermission now. Thanks for reporting my tweets!
  12. By the way, Regiment is doing the encore tonight. I'm off to the show site! I'll try to Twitter (tweet?) a bit during the show (@CWFreeze). Depends on how much my wife lets me get away with.
  13. Did I mention it was hot here today? Just got home from watching a few hours of Regiment practice. It was warm (the temperature reading when I got back in car was 106), but you'd never tell from watching them. They were really locked in. There's nothing like watching a really well-disciplined group rehearse, no matter the temperature. I moved around quite a bit, and it appeared to me that all of the sections were making good progress today. And of course, the highlight of the day was having my hair parted by the hornline during horn warmup, which is always a treat. Tonight's going to be fun, although, with the possible exception of the Spirit/Madison battle, I think the competitive outcome is probably pretty well set.
  14. Just left Blue Stars' visual rehearsal. I didn't stay too long, as my cranky two-year-old was being-- well, a cranky two-year-old. It's hot; 86 degrees at 10:30. Some of the members were struggling with the heat, but the ensemble as a whole seemed to be handling it fairly well. I'd venture a guess that the mental errors I was witnessing were more numerous than usual, and probably because of the heat/humidity. Can't wait to hear this group play tonight!
  15. The midwest swing continues. I'll be there, with iPhone in hand! Revolution, San Antonio, TX Pioneer, Milwaukee, WI Spirit, Jacksonville, AL Madison Scouts, Madison, WI Blue Stars, LaCrosse, WI Phantom Regiment, Rockford, IL Colt Cadets, Dubuque, IA
