Not worth the time or energy of a response. He's a tool.
Nice work outta Garry in Vegas for getting some e-ink, however!
edit: Sorry, Phil. Didn't mean to cop your verbiage in the very next post. You're right on.
I haven't seen them in performance, but I watched Phantom Regiment's coordination rehearsal on Saturday and didn't see anything electronic (besides pit amps).
I haven't watched the show on FN yet, but I'll just say this:
Whether he is or isn't fired or quitting, Pete Weber (Webber?) has produced some of my favorite drill over the past few years. The man is uber talented, IMO, and SCV is lucky to have him.
I'm pretty accepting of most of the changes drum corps has seen over the years, but the addition of woodwinds is just too much of a change in the fundamental character of drum corps for me to enjoy it. I might attend a show every few years or so to see what's going on, but I wouldn't be "into it" like I am now.
Yeah, I'm gonna stick to not comparing scores across shows. Colts were a hot mess tonight (on the webcam), and from what I'm hearing Blue Stars are clicking very well - although I haven't seen either live. I'll wait until they're all head-to-head (-to-head).
I was a little worried about that spread before the show. Hadn't seen or heard anything about Cavies, but was concerned about PR after talking to people "in the know" and watching them rehearse.
I've complained about this in prior years, but I'm sorry: there's no excuse to still be wearing rehearsal blacks during the first shows of the season. In fact, I think it was after seeing Glassmen last year in Coon Rapids that I was irritated.
